I saw Capital City Crawfish had some the other day. Try calling around.

Crabs don't seem to have the same cache on the Gulf coast as they do around the Chesapeake. I wonder why that is? I know that in Maryland, a pile of steamed crabs, liberally dosed with Old Bay or Wye River, is considered as good as it gets.

Huh? I think most the blue crabs sold in the Northeast come from LA.

In Baton Rouge, best bet is to call Tony's Seafood.

Cadillac Cafe opened back up yet? I’m sure you can pick up a bushel of crabs or two there.

That's my point. Maryland imports crabs. I've seen them unloading blue crabs off the boats at Shell Beach and packing them in boxes to be sent to Baltimore. They love them up there. They can't get enough of them.

Why aren't they considered as big of a deal on the Gulf Coast? We tend to prefer shrimp and crawfish. Both like oysters and fish.

Tony’s only sells crabs 6-7 months of the year. They don’t consider crabs in season until July on.
