I’ve said it multiple times in several threads over the past few days so I’ll just copy and paste again. The first sentence isn’t towards you, it was towards another poster.
I understand your concern but stop it. If tu tries to throw their “weight” around the SEC is going to tell them that dog won’t hunt. Their pompous arse bullshite isn’t going to fly in the SEC. Also almost every team in the conference is light years ahead of tu in terms of depth in the trenches. It’ll be enjoyable watching them struggle with a week to week SEC schedule for a few years. I’m excited to see the rivalry renewed, it’ll be good for football. frick tu, Saw ‘Em Off

I for one think Texas will welcome being a part of a strong conference. We have different leadership now and are trying to get out from under COVID-19 losses while navigating the new world of NIL and consolidation of media markets.
I think the worry about 'tu ruining the SEC' is overblown. We will play hard and happily collect our checks like everyone else.

I am hopeful that it will be better.
The Big XII tv contract blew and it always seemed the decision making about who got on what channel came straight from Austin. It really sucked having to listen to a ranked A&M play a ranked Texas Tech on the radio while an unranked Texas was playing at an unranked Kansas on national TV. A&M would get maybe 1 national broadcast a year, and 4 or 5 regionals and the rest were radio only. It was even worse for the Baylors of the world.

Well, I hope you can agree any scheduling issues you might have going forward will all be on ESPN and to a lesser extent the league offices in Birmingham. I don't see Texas having any outsize influence on when our games will be played in the SEC. We can request, but in the end, it's mostly up to ESPN.
