Oh I think they'll definitely paint it, I just don't know about a total remodel like the picture.

Why do they need a concert venue? AMP is good for most stuff and WAC has most of the other stuff covered. Rodeo and demolition derby in Springdale like it's always been?

What is the need to spend 9 digits?? Just make it nice for basketball. The rest of this shite is a pipe dream

I think it's just a might as well situation. Modern basketball arenas are also concert venues and host MMA, boxing, motocross etc.

So if you're going to have to more or less gut the place even just for the basketball changes you might as well go all the way.

All I can think of.

I do think it would draw some concerts/acts that the AMP doesn't. But I don't go to or follow concerts much.

My thoughts as well. Shrink the seating down to 12k, give it a face lift inside and out, then call it good. That would yield a far better game day experience IMO.

Please don't reduce capacity just as we're getting good again. At least not by that much

frick concerts and events. It's a basketball arena. And for frick sakes don't drive up ticket prices to make it more comfortable

To 12k? Why so low?

No way this happens. I would imagine there will be over 15k season tickets sold for this season.

Likely to see capacity increased IMO to above 20k.

12-15k
Let the corporate suites pay for the BWA renovation, not the family sitting in section 120

The families will pay or be forced out if you reduce capacity and we are a consistent top 15 team

The original plan did call for a reduction by removing the top few rows to expand concourse. Would lose a few thousand and be around 17K.

12k is way too low. I know that's the trend, but that's the trend for Bama, Georgia etc. We have a higher demand and it will only become higher. 15k-17k is something we can consistently fill. BWA would no loger be BWA at 12k.

We do need to renovate though.

Yeah the main proposal removes the top few rows of seats lower bowl to expand the concourse and suites. Be around 17K capacity.

I just hope we get some news. Program hype at new levels now let's get BWA renovated like it needs desperately. Coming up on year from this survey too.

I just hope we spring for some decent lighting in this renovation. Every time they’ve made tweaks and renovations I walk in and the place is still a cave. Never understood that one.

ETA: I knew this thread felt familiar.

Yep, the concourse is too dark. the color scheme and materials is outdated and it feels claustrophobic. I feel like I am literally in the 1990s when I walk through it. The “artwork” and visual media Throughout is outdated. We need to open up the concourse, bring in lighter colored and more modern material that isn't gray/red concrete, to make it feel more spacious, clean, light and modern.

I have Verizon and have a hard time getting service in BWA, I hope that gets addressed. Anybody else have a problem with connection? Cupholders at our seats would be nice. The front facing hog is still on the jumbotron-slash that asap. I personally feel we should readjust our student section to have a greater impact on the game and atmosphere. The suits look outdated, but I haven't been in, I have only seen a little passing by.

The game day store and small merchandise stores are lacking. They need a major renovation and need to be bigger. The merchandise itself is lacking, but that is a whole other discussion. we need to do a better job advertizeg during the game in the app and elsewhere e.g., “Immediately following the game all white Razorback gear is 25% off for next weeks white out”, “like Coach Musselmans polo shirt? They are available at the gameday store! Stop by afterwards and receive 10% off” etc.

I am sure the building is ADA compliant but it seems like it is lacking. Can we get some escalators? Some of these old peeps have a hard time.

I personally believe we could use the space where the museum is for the gameday store. But we would need t figure something else out as far as a museum goes.

Do we have a tunnel from the basketball facility to the stadium?

Also, tv's for the urinals so we can continue to watch the game LOL

The most correct answer.

I do not understand augmented reality pods. As someone said, that sounds very Jeff Longish. Who goes to a basketball game to watch the game on a screen? Stay home and buy a 3D TV or something. Words cannot express how much I hate that idea.

Reducing seating doesn't make sense when we're finally getting good again, as y'all have stated. I would like to see more student seating similar to what Auburn has. I know that won't happen, but it creates a great environment. Our student section is good and we stick them in the corner where they don't have as much of an impact. It's dumb.

While I share the desire to strike while the iron is hot and give BWA a much needed facelift, I’m not aligned with expansion.

We got burned on this a few years ago when we pushed the football stadium expansion project forward in January of 2016 when we thought we were turning the corner with Bielema. Granted, it ultimately led to the downfall of Jeff Long so the end result was a net positive, but our finances were in dire straits for a while. To say Pittman “saved” this program is not an exaggeration.

Agreed. The West Virginia game was the first game at BWA I’d been to in a few years, and the main thing that stuck out to me was how small the student section looked.

I am ashamed to admit that whole mess caught me off guard. I remember thinking we were spending an awful lot of money on some iffy projects but Long kept talking about how much money we had in reserve still. Welp... turns out Long's financial acumen was as so much fart gas.

Yurachek gets a lot of credit, deservedly so, for his ability to get and keep good coaches but he's done a good job financially here. We are one of the few programs that didn't fire or furlough a ton of people during the worst of COVID thanks to his ability to stretch a buck and our coaches willingness to take a broad pay cut until we had weathered the storm.
