His numbers are off. I count 21 for the SEC.

That's why the B1G wants playoff expansion so badly. Easier to get more mediocre teams in that give the illusion of being good

It works for them in basketball, so it's no surprise.

I only count 19.

2014: Alabama, Mississippi State, Ole Miss

2015: Alabama

2016: Alabama

2017: Georgia, Alabama, Auburn

2018: Alabama, Georgia, Florida, LSU

2019: LSU, Georgia, Florida

2020: Alabama, A&M, Georgia, Florida

Since 2013-2104, in bowl games:

B1G: 35-34
SEC: 55-33

I’m all for getting more B1G teams in. Easy wins for Alabama and other SEC teams.

I am not going to look at those years but I would find it practically impossible for the SEC to only have 1 team to qualify in a 12 team format

The SEC was down in 16, just about every team not named Alabama lost 4 or 5 games.

8-4 Auburn went to the Sugar Bowl.

I didn't go back and look.

Would this new format eliminate conference championship games?

In 2015, the 2nd-highest ranked SEC team in the CFP final poll was Ole Miss at 12. With the highest six CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS being in, that would only leave the following at large bids:

12-1 Iowa
11-1 Ohio State
10-2 Notre Dame
10-2 Florida State
11-2 North Carolina
10-2 TCU

In 2016, the 2nd-highest rated SEC team was Auburn at 14.

The at large bids would have been:

11-1 Ohio State (remember Penn State won the Big Ten)
10-2 Michigan
10-3 Wisconsin
10-3 Colorado
9-3 USC
9-3 Florida State/9-3 Oklahoma State

You’re missing 2015 Ole Miss and 2019 Auburn.

No I'm not. You keep leaving out the top six conference champions part.

2015 playoff teams would have been:

Conference Champions: Clemson, Alabama, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Stanford, Houston

At-Large: Iowa, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Florida State, North Carolina, TCU (all had 10+ wins)

2019 playoff teams would have been:

Conference Champions: LSU, Ohio State, Clemson, Oklahoma, Oregon, Memphis

At-Large: Georgia, Baylor, Wisconsin, Florida, Penn State, Utah (all had 10+ wins)

i guess my point was most of the time the SEC has 2 or 3 legit top 10 teams...but 2015 & 16 hurt that point

Ole Miss was ranked #12 by the CFP committee in the final poll. They would have been bumped by #18 Houston.

LSU was just outside at #13.
