Georgia should be up here now that Wheeler is gone. Never liked that guy. Turns the ball over too much and can’t shoot worth shite.

I think Auburns lack of votes is because they still had a decent team on paper, but seemed to underperform. Guess they wanna make sure that it was just a fluke. Knowing Pearl, he will have them right back in the conversation.

Youngest team in the country with its two best players out a large portion of the year. The team was okay at times and had some nice wins but Bruce was playing walk ons the last stretch of the season. Bruce got all he could out of what he had.

Youngest team in the country? Arkansas was starting 3 true freshman in the NCAA tourney.

Seems like all teams are young nowadays.

I find it interesting that AU fans don't hold Pearl accountable for the team he had. Was it not his team management that caused them to be the youngest team in the country? With all the defections, won't they be that way again this year?

To an extent but what was he supposed to have done differently? He got to a final 4 and was on the verge of making another deep run last year when Covid ended everything. He tried to add another pg in the off-season but with Cooper signed it wasn't an easy sell to a transfer to come in and back up a freshman.

ETA Who is replacing Justin @ Arab? I played for his dad way back when so I follow him as much as I can. It's a tough job being 6A with the demographics of Arab

It's a lot more difficult to put attrition on a coach in college basketball when they can literally declare at any point in their college career. It's not like that in other sports where you know you're going to keep players for at least 3 years except for a couple draft eligible sophomores in baseball. Makes it much more of a guessing game when trying to manage a roster and recruiting class.

Why isn't LSU in there? Didn't they just sign Kim Mulkey?

This hardly matters in basketball.

It does when your two best players are freshman but couldn’t play most of the season.
