Do y’all even know why Tank was kneeling at the garbage can? Geez putting in that hard work had him either throwing up or feeling like he was gonna throw up. Pushing the body to exhaustion and overload. It’s a good thing.

The running is nice and all, but I need to see some Oline and Dline doing some bench.

Most of these seem to be team building and cardio type things. See who checks out when the going gets tough type stuff. Speed hasn't been a problem. Power has. So I kind of agree with you. But there are reasons powerlifters and bodybuilders aren't pro football players. Athletic movement and explosiveness is very important at every position.

I really feel that the Derek Mason hire is going to end up being better than most think

Mason was by far my favorite hire by Harsin

I'm also a fitness coach on the side, so yes explosiveness can come from the fun/challenging cardio things in these videos, but most of that comes from the Power cleans and heavy squats developing quick hip openings, and with squats that stretch reflex.
I have seen some of these videos with squats with chains which works the same for explosiveness--the chains decrease weight as you go down and add weight as you rise out of the squat so exploding from the bottom of the squat works in that favor.

I thought the consensus was that Mason was a home run hire? So better than that would be awesome.

So yes like I said. That particular video was team building stuff. With an emphasis on competing.
And again you can never be to fast but our problems haven't come from not having enough speed but having enough power. I have no doubt it's being addressed but was just pointing out what was going on in the video.
Thanks for the reply TemperedTiger and respect your fitness coach expertise and hope if you are training athletes that you are not just focusing on fitness but explosive/fast twitch training. That is a major problem at the high school level. Guys just go in and see how much they can squat, clean, or bench. When if they can bench 225 and say a max for 2-3 reps. Maybe drop down to 185 and try a 3 second down and as soon as the bar hits the chest explode up as quickly as possible. Have to add in this for anyone training a baseball player. The deadlift is probably the most important lift there is.

He basically already said he works on explosiveness did he not?

I’m not sure he did. Maybe.? He talked about the videos but said he was a fitness coach not an athletic trainer. Big difference. So if you could quote it for me maybe that might help. You know the board dipshit need some splain’n to understand.
