True. But the main thing is folks are tired of BLM and the forcing of political opinions down our throats.
I turned to another channel whenever anything remotely related to race or politics was referenced.

I’m sick and tired of their fake “social justice” bullshite. Haven’t watched more than a quarter of maybe one or two games a season since the disrespect the country and flag movement began.

Must admit, Coach Saban don't play that shite. You come to Bama, your arse falls in line. He runs a tight ship. Very impressive in the present climate.

All sports viewership is down regardless of sports. Some are historically low.
NFL
NBA
MLB
PGA
NHL
Even Tennis Majors have all seen historic lows or are close to it.
Has nothing to with politics and everything to do with the pandemic. People are exhausted with TV.
Cable cutting is at historic highs. 23% of households have cut cable since the peak of 2014. Paid cable was down 7.5% year over year.
When people get broke cable is the first bill they cut.

Modern streaming has made the super bowl less of a cultural phenomena than it used to be.
ETA: Oh and Pandemic sports ratings in general

This. And, its especially true with football (College and pro).
Team sports in general are dwindling at all ages.
Will be interesting to see how things develop over the next couple of generations.

The "lowest in 14 years" accounts for that. So what if more people streamed, that's just a statement about how consumption is changing overall. People will continue to not give these self-absorbed idiots any kind of money until it's all about sports again. Maybe not even then.

bullshite. He literally led a BLM march for his players.
There aren’t any white football coaches who can be outwardly against BLM or they wouldn’t have a team

The superbowl didn’t even have anything political, lol.
No idea what people are crying about in this thread.
The idea that the 1000 people actually protesting the NFL have an effect has been thoroughly disproven.

Has nothing to do with politics? How stupid are you?

Viewership for the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Stanley Cup finals plummeted a whopping 61 per cent on last year. For the National Basketball Association (NBA) finals it was down 51 percent. Major League Baseball’s (MLB) World Series was the lowest rated in history, its average of 9.72 million viewers across six games on Fox a 30 per cent decline on last year’s Fall Classic.
There were also significant decreases across several crown jewel events. Horse racing’s Kentucky Derby, held in September after being dislodged from its familiar slot on the first Saturday in May, saw its domestic audience fall 49 percent compared to 2019. The Masters, despite delivering the most-watched golf broadcast of the year, still returned its lowest-rated final round since 1957. There were also drops for the US Open in both tennis and golf, as well as across various other sports.
Obviously, people are finding other things to do with their time.

Except the Aints players because they know the closest they will ever get to the Super Bowl now is watching it on TV now that Brees is done and Payton sucks in the playoffs every year. He probably won't even have to worry about choking in the playoffs now though since Brees will be gone.
