What did you think was going to happen with him at the helm? Guarantee we won't ever finish above 26 nationally.

Leach is going to have more talent at Miss St than he did in his career till now. Gotta give it some time.

Early Signing Day
Highest ranked QB recruit I believe ever.
4 WRs, 2 with very good speed. Knox will be a deadly combo with Walley in the slots next yr. Plus Harmon and Heath outside.
5 OL
4 Linebackers
1 APB who can play at multiple positions
1 Safety
1 Transfer DE. Getting CBs for another DE

My Dad told me a long time ago that State fans only know misery, I gotta say its been like this since I can remember.

26 nationally.

What a stretch considering Mullen averaged 27th in his tenure. Which is your class average since 2010 until 2019 when ML became HC.

One of your best HCs in recent memory. You baws may just wanna accept the fact that crootin is tough in Starkvegas. Unless you get bigger bags and say fk sanctions

No troll but honest question. Has State ever had a HC average top 15 classes?

leach is rocking the 35th right now. state HAS to recruit inside the top 25 if we want to compete in the sec.

With what, 18 commits? Got room for more.

You guys get too caught up in class rankings.. Again, you got 5 OL which you needed. A QB whos gonna push Will for time. 4 WRs, 2 who may start day 1. You got 4 LBs, I'm sure one will slide into E-40's spot alongside Brule and Threat.
Yeah, you probably need a NG to feel good but needs have been addressed pretty well except for the secondary. I saw you guys do have some CBs for a CB and Im sure they'll find more to add there.

Looks like you guys just landed DE Ty Cooper. Kid is nasty

Cool so next year we'll be 15th. But Dan and JoMo did manage some above 25. I'm not sure Leach will ever do that. I don't follow recruiting until signing day and then I take a look. We can be competitive with coaching up our players. My comment was more about did you think Leach was going to come in and haul in a top 10 class?

The only thing that concerns me are the trenches. OL & DL This is where the SEC is different IMO. Our OL got better and the DL was good but we need to recruit that well to have success.

Honestly and my point is.. I don’t think ANY coach could come to state and pull a top 15 class every year. Never happened in my lifetime that I can remember

Again. Stop looking at a number and look at the positions you filled and the players.
Needed OL, it was addressed
Needed speed at WR, got one of the fastest players on the board.
QB of the future, check
Linebacker to replace E40, check

Chill man .. needs are being addressed

35th isn’t far out of line from what we have done in the past.

Actually I was worried Leach would do much worse. Let him have a couple good seasons and it will improve. I think he ends up getting big recruits for offense in the future

I think the State class average the past 10 years is 27th.

I don’t get much into rankings as long as needs are met. You guys need DBs but it seems the other boxes like OL and WR have been checked

And now it's the time to recognize that State has killed it since early signing day.

They got a transfer former 5 star CB from Texas and 4 star RB out of LA.

If those two guys were all we got since signing day, it would have been a good off season but there is more:

Transfers:

UCF starting SDE Randy Charlton that will step right in and help

CAl starting WR Makai Polk that may contribute

Plus there is another spot or two left for signing day and expected Ty Cooper who some say is the best DLineman in the state this year.

I don't know what people expected to get but right now this class may be one of the best ever to be signed at State. Leach and Co are doing work!

One thing I didn't factor was probably the portal might be one of the best things to happen for us if we can fall into the right guys.

Jackie had an impressive one in 02 or 03 but it didn't really pan out except for Jerious Norwood.

I mean Moorhead didn't really do much better than recruit from the state of mississippi while Ole Miss was under probation. As long as it's the top 30, it's fine.

Leach is a miracle worker with try-hards. He’s been recognized as 2x COTY doing exactly that. Pattern is first year shite, all uphill from there. With Moorhead’s excessive slag and the challenges that are clearly present in the SECW, maybe a 2 year window from now would be more appropriate.
