A 3* WR from Oxford, Al., High School got his offer pulled by Tennessee the day before NSD. 6'2", 212 lbs. He made all-state the last two seasons.

Is this to poke fun/talk shite about UTjr. or are you trying to gauge if we have interest in a dumpster fire castoff?

Mainly it was a comment about UTk shitting on this kid. But, a 6'2", 215 players might work on special teams. His HS coach says he can catch well and enjoys blocking for his teammates.

UT burned a bridge with a pretty prominent HS program is what I got out of the deal. The HS coaches are pissed.

I believe we'll be at 83 scholarships after today and we'll see if Beck sticks around.

We are gonna need room for potential transfers.

BTW,not sure if the NCAA is gonna allow expansion of the limits since they gave everyone a pass on eligibility last season.

Seems like they should have made an announcement at this point.

this is pretty typical when a new staff is hired. Maybe usually doesn't happen on NSD however...

I understand it’s not “their recruit”, but the long-term repercussions of destroying your relationship with that school’s coaches probably wasn’t worth opening up a scholly this close to signing day. They may regret that one. Terrible optics.

2020 seniors have been granted another "senior" year in 2021. The NCAA will have to expand scholarship and roster limits to accommodate these players. Most schools won't have too many seniors playing another season but the NCAA has to allow room for them. Some may choose to transfer to other schools.

Transfers are going to count in the 85. They should be grad transfers. So destination and immediate eligibility is not a concern (even within conference). But the teams are not getting an 85 man exception for a player who transfers in for a 5th or 6th year.

So, he wound up at the best football school in Tennessee, anyway. Yep, good for him.

True. But they will for seniors that come back for another year. It hasn't been finalized yet what they will do but they have said it will be addressed.

Sure but everyone got an eligibility exemption this year...not just seniors.

If nothings been "finalized" yet then we're back to square one.
