This is just basically a transcript of his press conference, but it’s very long with notes about each new staff member. Thought our Auburn friends might enjoy reading through, if y’all haven’t already seen it.

Bryan Harsin wraps up his first month on the job this week. The new Auburn coach, who was hired last month to take over the reins of the program, has had his hands full as he has worked to get everything in place for his first season on the Plains.

His days have started at 5:30 a.m. in his office at Auburn’s athletics complex, where he has often worked well past 11 p.m. -- making calls, vetting and interviewing coaches, meeting with his new players, watching film of recruits and just overall assessing everything as he dives headfirst into his new job. On Thursday, Harsin completed his on-field staff with the addition of Bert Watts as his 10th assistant, and then met with the media for the first time since his introductory press conference.

Harsin recapped his staff, discussed his first month on the Plains and looked ahead at the work to be done this spring. Here’s everything the Tigers’ new coach had to say:

It is on our board, but thanks for sharing anyways.

I like what he has to say. Time will tell if he succeeds or not, but I think he has a pretty good vision for what he wants and he will be steadfast in his standards.

Now we will see if he can put the product on the field.

Thanks.

I think most of us are cautiously optimistic about Harsin. Most of that optimism is predicated on the fact that he is a complete outsider with no ties to the school or any of it's boosters, outside of Bo visiting Boise a couple of years ago.

It's a huge break from the past, which is kind of a novel approach for us. That alone is refreshing.

Yep. Described it perfect. Happy some new blood is in the program. I think we all know it’s gonna take a little to rebuild and hopefully we give him time to do it.

I bet it is, and that makes a lot of sense.

I hadn’t seen it yet. Thanks for sharing.
I agree with the Auburn posters above in that I’m cautiously optimistic, and happy to have some new blood. I do feel like these were all his hires and not forced on him like some have been on the past.

Does this mean Alabama football will have better success against Auburn football as long as Bryan Harsin is the HC of Auburn?

It’s early. He talks a good game but who knows. Appears to be Auburn’s best hire since Dye. We’ll see.

No real reason to not be optimistic.

I'm just glad you guys didn't hire Freeze. That guy at a good program is going to be terrifying.

I believe that the guy's gonna be successful at Auburn if folks will just give him a chance.

I will say it. I like this hire for Auburn. I like the assistant coaches he has hired. Mike Bobo will make Tank Bigsby a star. He will make Gunner Stockton a star.

Bring on the competition.

I agree. We are in rebuild mode. It will take several years to get an SEC OL. We have plenty of talent in some areas but need a lot of work in others.
