When everyone predicts us to cover and not have a problem with Cincinnati and we win by 3 after only leading for :02, I think that was somewhat warranted.
We were playing a higher ranked team with 9 starters as well as a major contributor on offense out. The only people who saw us killing them were those too lazy to understand the scenario.
As for your infraction, it was the defeatist tone. Rules are rules sir.

ding ding ding... The "mah G5 team should have no business competing ever in any circumstances" dumbshits...
Cincinatti held every team they played to well below their typical offensive outputs. That defense was well coached and had a lot of experience. So much so that it looks like LSU may be trying to hire their DC.
We did not execute particularly well (4 yard punt, blown assignments on the long run score, etc), but thankfully were able to pull out a win in spite of some of the challenges.
I think the coaches may look back and question whether the OL reshuffle was the right approach, as that seemed to be a source for a lot of the early problems offensively... But missing the contributors that we were, it was an encouraging thing to see those guys fight and claw their way back into things late.

I think a lot has been covered here already and I actually don't want to call out anyone but I find it really annoying in the game threads when people give up before they should. I get it that fans are passionate, but we shouldn't let our emotions get in the way of reason.

Loads of UGA fans thought Cinci was a rent a win and we'd win easily by double digits. Cincinnati is a very good football team and we were down players and have seen another UGA team go through the motions in a bowl game in the Sugar Bowl against Texas
Again with the Texas comparison. No idea
why this is continually brought up.This
game was remotely similar because of the amount of players missing.Unlike
the Texas game,we didn't lack effort or
the will to win.Our OL obviously had to make adjustments with 4 guys starting in new positions as well as the defense
with starters out (anybody know the deal with Travon Walker?) Kirby also mentioned that they were very limited on practices and reps.It makes a difference when playing a team loaded with experience (9 Sr starters with 4 RS on defense)
We also obviously missed Cook big time.Would have smoked Cincy on the blitzes they were throwing at us.
Even with all our guys missing and inexperience we could have covered if not for a shanked punt and horrible end zone pick by Daniels.

Absolutely and have no idea why so many on this board shite on Cook or completely fail to mention him when it comes to our RB situation.
I'm assuming he comes back next year and it'll hurt us more than folks know if he doesn't.

Needs to be a weekly thread after every game neat year.
This is actually a good idea. I imagine it would weed out a lot of the comments that make it unreadable today.
Either that or we need two game threads. One for the normal people and the other for douchebags. An Admin could kick people out of the real thread, and demote them to the douchebag thread.

Ooh, a relegation thread. That seems like a fun idea.

Didn’t Jody make one already?

That's not even mentioning the (at least) two blown calls the officials had in the early stages of the game. There was two 15 yard penalties that seemed pretty obvious that should have been called against Cincy that were left on the field by the officials.

Agreed. I saw in an article that Kirby learned a valuable lesson in preparing for the Texas game. that was....if players opt out or choose not to play, they don't make the trip with the team.
After thinking about it I could see his point. If you go it becomes a vacation because you don't have to prepare for the game. that lackadaisical attitude can and does rub off on the players who should be preparing. They see players laughing and goofing off and instead of remaining focused they tend to relax, too.
See? Kirby can and does learn!

Admittedly in the past I have been extremely critical of him for going down easily...in my opinion. That seems to have been corrected on his part. I saw him finishing runs much better this past season.

And I don’t care about spreads or talking heads, but there was a thread on this board where it was said we would steamroll them and it got numerous upvotes.
There were posts here saying the same about the Alabama game, even though we all knew about our QB deficiency.
Hope springs eternal.
