No brother, the boosters are not the bag men. The boosters are the ones who write checks for improvements and buy box seats. The bag men are guys like you and I who have money to burn when they think the team will benefit with the right coach.
So its like this, Clowney wasn't coming here just for money or because we outbid Bama. He came because we competed with Bama/Ohio State etc offer. And he knew he could win here and develop.
And the bag men are not going to drop money on players. That they know they won't get. Nor will they drop money for players when they have no faith in the coach.
Dabo made a plea to Clemsons entire system. The boosters got behind hiring upgrades and the bag men got behind the recruiting efforts.

I have no idea what the Boosters think about Beamer. I can assure you the bag men who aid in recruiting have none. He sank that ship when he retained Bobo the Clown

When you typed that, did you actually laugh like that?
Both were fired by a program who had unrealistic expectations of where they should be in a quick amount of time. One program is no better than they were, the other won't be either. The common thread is following up both with Sarkisian and neither will be better for it.
If you don't think Lane Kiffen or Tom Herman would have been better coaches here than Muschamp or Beamer, we've got bigger problems to deal with.

Well Dabo gave up some of his own money to get the best DC money could buy. Then he ponied up more to install an entirely new offense. With a hot up and coming OC. And started building facilities. Thus far Beamer has retained a dinosaur with 0 splash hires at all. And we have no idea who our DC will be. To put that in perspective Sam Pittman did the same, hire Odom and Briles.
Let me answer your question with a question. Why would anyone get behind what Beamer has done so far? He could've pulled a Dabo, instead he's panning out to be a Derek Dooley.

Obviously Venables has worked out, but was he thought of as the best money could buy? I remember Oklahoma fans being happy he was gone and acting like he was going to be fired if he didn’t find a new spot.
