ILBs make their living in 1 of 2 ways. Superior physical gifts i.e. Parsons at PSU or Superior play diagnostics i.e. Garrett and Bolton. We were blessed to replace 1 superior football mind (Garrett) with another (Bolton). What we saw after Bolton were ILBs without those diagnostic skills and without 4 or 5 star physical gifts. They will get better, but the results will not match Garrett or Bolton.

Winning or losing this game, in this crazy year especially, shouldn't be the primary concern. The real value lies in the extra practice, game experience and evaluation gained.

Just out of curiosity - who did you guys want to face?

I was thinking Wisconsin would have been a perfect match-up. We haven't faced them since 1984 and they are also at .500.... They lost to Iowa 28-7 fwiw.

Well, that’s that. Onward to 2021 and seeing games with a full house.

We would’ve stomped Iowa. Oh well, good year 1 for Drink and the future looks bright

Bummer. Bowls falling like dominoes. Wouldn’t be surprised if all get cancelled besides the playoffs.

I’m glad they let the kids go home for Christmas. That’s more important than quarantine bullshite.

At some point, we will decide to return to living.

1 or multiple coach/s caught the virus and it hit them a little harder. Sorry that the virus that nobody wants is infringing on your rights.

Cant say I agree. The kids could have waited 5 more days to go home, and then stay home for a few weeks.

Tho, none of this matters since they caught the flu prior.

Now Drink will catch heat for letting kids go home and spread it even more. Its a lose/lose for drink.

They’ve probably been largely isolated the whole semester. I would guess it’s already taken quite a toll emotionally.

I don't think Drink catches any criticism. It's a pandemic, no one has absolute control over how this virus is spread. The best we can to hopefully slow it down and relieve some of the pressure on frontline healthcare professionals. Without available beds and staff, we would really be screwed.

While I agree, if you haven't noticed everyone catches heat for anything in regards to covid.

Well then that's just stupid. It's a virus. It doesn't care about bowl games, it's not afraid of "tough guys" or religious zealots. What it does do is flood ICUs with high risk patients that real people have to treat. That should be the focus, not unwarranted criticism of a football coach.

Some of the Iowa fans are already calling Mizzou and Drink a bunch of Southern yahoos for letting players go home in the first place when scientist are pleading with people not to travel for the holidays.(Their word and not mine)
