Justin Smith can ball.

Moses Moody was a known quantity, but this Smith cat is smooth. He’s got a body to bang the boards also.

We also have some shooters. Notae when hot is unconscious...doesn’t play much d but can shoot it from downtown.

One knock on him coming into the game was he couldn't stretch the floor with his shot, its just one scrimmage/game but he sure looked really nice from deep

Seems like this will be the only thing holding him back potentially

I havent watched but Ive heard our defense is the weak point of our team.

Anyone with any insight?

Still too early to really know but it looks like our perimeter D is going take a step back this year. Musselman has talked alot about guys like Notae, Sills and Moody needing to get better on defensive. That is going to be alot of the guys we heavily rely on at the guard positions.

Having said that, our offensive should take a decent step up. In Musselman's last two years at Nevada he had the 7th and 26th best team in adjusted offense. Last year we were 55th. I expect to make a nice jump in that area this year.

I'm not sure how our interior D could be worse considering all the size we gained. Same could be said in regards to rebounding the ball, although we looked a little sloppy in the red/white game at times.

If we know one thing about Muss we know that lack of effort on D will have your arse on the bench frequently.

Yeah and I think Musselman really likes him in the coming off the bench/providing scoring and energy role but I believe Notae is playing to well to put him in that spot.

I doubt it sure we miss someone like Whitt locking down the best opposing guard but defense inside will be a huge improvement. I think we get way more steals with the length we have this year
