Buzzing Volcanoes

Had the opportunity to swing by a few volcanoes this week. I have been saying 2020 needs a volcano to be complete. I was a little surprised to see Iliamna venting (in the video link). Just thought I would share a few photos/videos.

Usually the volcano in the photo is venting. It erupts about every 20 years. I am not by the volcano in the video often but that is first time I have seen it venting. I don't think it has had much activity since 1953.

That's spectacular..

It's always impressive driving down into Anchorage and seeing those Aleutian volcanos draped in white, across the inlet.

my cousins from Kenai broughtr some Iliamna Ash when the visited in the mid 80s

Redoubt erupted in 89. It’s not far from Iliamna. I believe it erupted again in 2009.
