No news that Mac is playing at an insane level. There is no doubt it should be a two horse race right now between Lawrence and Mac for the Heisman. Lawrence is putting up big numbers too, but the Ga Tech defense isn't Georgia's defense. Based on competition, I'd have Mac at the top...but overcoming the Lawrence hype might be tough unless Clemson loses a game. And considering their schedule...that isn't likely. They have Notre Dame as their "big" challenge in the regular season lol. But still...voters sometimes grow bored with preseason favorites for that award...and Mac is a great story...so who knows. Just needs to keep winning.

As for the NFL draft...if he keeps up this level of play, he might be strongly advised to forego remaining eligibility. What's his ceiling in the draft? What was Burrow's ceiling prior to last season? Mac has shown a legit NFL arm. The one thing he hasn't shown is elite athleticism... scrambling ability etc. Of course, NFL QBs like Manning and Brady weren't elite athletes. Just saying. I could see Mac being a late first round pick. What I don't like is Bama QBs being knocked because of the talent around them. Last I checked, Clemson and Ohio St have elite talent around their QBs too.

But, of course, the first bad game he has and that all is debatable. Burrow didn't have a bad game last season.

We'll see.

It's not just Mac, but Waddle/Smith and Harris are in conversation.

Agreed they're all elite players, but it's really a QB award these days...unless there isn't a truly standout QB...then a Bama RB wins by default lol.

If he keeps playing like this then he deserves it. The problem will be overcoming the Alabama fatigue, even though Clemson has had just as much success.

The problem is overcoming the media’s major love fest for Lawrence. Dude is treated like the greatest thing since sliced bread after every throw he makes.
