Non-Mond Issues: RB production vs Good defenses

Here are our RB stats against the premiere front 7s we've faced under Jimbo. The two LSU games and the 2018 Auburn games are the ones that the OL/RB showed up, but more often than not, our run game has been a zero when it comes to helping win these types of games. And historically our rush numbers vs Alabama's defense have been dreadful.
Any hope that Spiller+Ainias find room to run tomorrow?

Alabama is going to stack the box and play man on the outside, because no one is scared of getting beat currently over the top with how Mond is playing. I would say we need to get Mond more involved in the run game and that might allow us to, but I’m tired of seeing him fumble the damn ball.

Our o-line is absolutely a liability, but defenses stacking the box knowing Mond can't throw the ball over the top is also a killer. A couple deep connections opens up a running game in a hurry, weak line or not.

Yea it makes things harder for the run game. But a good effort from the OL and RB can still produce even with an ineffectual passing game (see Georgia vs us last year, Auburn vs Alabama last year)

Is there a OT that didn’t do well against Bama last season? Buddy was telling me that he was a liability last year. He says Bama by 3 td’s tomorrow and while I’m not sure A&M can pull it off I feel good about the spread tomorrow. Wearing my A&M tomorrow

Probably #54 Carson Green, RT. Whole line struggled really, and for the most part it the se group of guys. They had a good game last week in pass protection (against a weaker opponent) but hopefully they can hold up somewhat on the road.

RB recruiting, OL recruiting, OL technique all needs to be addressed. It is pathetic that we know going into big games that our running game is going to be a no-show and we will have to rely on miracles from our QB that are few and far between on good days if we want to have a chance.

The running game is finding its groove. Mississippi State was #2 rushing defense in the SEC and had only given up 227 yards rushing all year, on 2.1 ypc, and we ended up with 186. Three different running backs averaged 5 ypc.
With the passing game not working today, the rushing game (and defense) won it for us

O-line looked like they won the line of scrimmage all game long.

Agree, the oline really played well overall against a very good front. Not much passing threat today so they really supported the run D and we still moved the ball pretty well. Oline physical play is very encouraging once again.
