I loved Bobby Cox and think he was great, however, we spent the most money in the league other than the Yankees for the better part of a decade with the three headed monster pitching staff. We should have one more World Series, IMO.

There was only one time in the WS that we had a truly better team, 1996. If there is one we SHOULD of won, that's it. 91 was a push. 92 the Jays were the better team. 95 I still think the Indians were the better team but the pitching got hot and the clutch hits were there and we won. Plus Glavine pitched the game of his life in Gm.6.

98 I'll also grant you and that one was on Bobby for that lineup in the LCS. Aside from that, I'll disagree w/you.

We had at least 3 teams that were
the best in MLB and didn't win it
'93,'96 and '97 and 2 didn't make
it to the WS... inexcusable. We also had some unbelievably potent
lineups in the early '00's.I believe it was '03 that had guys balling up and down the lineup.

If you think Bobby was a bad manager, then I can't take

When did I say this? I just said he shoulda been gone after '93 and he would
have if he was managing in NY, Boston or Philidelphia...press woulda slaughtered the guy.

He was great at managing people and
is probably a great guy but when it
comes to strategy and playing "hunches" he's not my pick in the post season.

His teams were CONTINUALLY upset in the playoffs and rarely overachieved.

The 2003 team losing in the divisional round is almost as inexcusable as the 1998 team losing to the sorry arse Padres.

'97 was the fault of Eric Gregg.
