And the three nominees for the Class of 2021 are:

Shaun Alexander, RB (2000-2008)
Cornelius Bennett, LB (1987-2000)
Chris Samuels, OL (2000-2009)

I would think that Big Sam is a lock.

Forgot he was also a nominee for the College Football Hall of Fame earlier this year. Would be amazing to be inducted into both in 2021.

Alexander with 112 tds and 10,000+ all purpose yards. Only 12 running backs in league history have over 100tds + 10,000 yards. If he had played for the Cowboys he’d probably get in

Even quite a few Seahawks fans don’t think too highly of him which is weird

The main argument that’s often used against him is he played behind a great OL but his peak didn’t last too long

The list of RBs who dominated the league for a decade behind terrible Olines being a mile long.

Now that you mention it, before the playoff game against Washington, the Huskies Message Board brought him up a few times and they kinda hated him. Dont remember exactly why though

That Super Bowl against Steelers was rigged. All three will have to wait if they ever get in.

I would get it if they thought he was a little overrated but a lot of them see to straight up dislike him. I’ve seen so many them say anybody could have done what he did behind that line which is just stupid and disrespectful.

The Pacific Northwest being batshit liberal and Alexander being a renowned Christian may have something to do with it.

Samuels has 0 All Pro nods. I think there is currently one (post merger) player in the HOF that doesn’t have at least one 1st team selection. And that’s Aikman who is a QB with multiple SB wins.

5 consecutive seasons with 1,600+ yards and 16+ touchdowns. Unfortunately, the injuries started the season immediately after he set the NFL record for TDs. He broke his foot in the third game, and was plagued with injuries before leaving the league just three years later.

It's not really that his peak was short, it's that it ended so abruptly.

How can you use batshit crazy and Christian in a sentence about Shaun, without mentioning his claims God healed his broken foot... that clearly wasn't healed?
