Hard to believe it's been 19 years. That week sticks in my memory vividly. It's something that definitely shaped the trajectory of my life directly.

Hard to believe that we're still in Afghanistan 19 years later.

I was in 6th grade.

I will never forget the teachers turning on the television for coverage of the attack during school. That is what we watched for the entire school day while our teachers whispered to one another shocked and angry.

frick those who caused that terrible day, most have been dealt with now. God rest the innocent souls lost and God bless the first responders and soldiers who dealt with the aftermath.

I remember watching in class too. Didn’t fully grasp the weight of it at the time.

I was grown sitting in traffic headed to work that day. Chaos on the radio wondering what happened when the first plane hit, when the second hit later everyone knew there was an attack going on. Only thing I remember that was remotely close to that feeling was when Reagan was shot. I can't imagine when Kennedy was killed.

I will never forget. I was streaming it on one of my computers in my office while on the phone calling in to see when I would be getting orders and to where...ended up in a surge a couple of months later, hunting down terrorist cells as an Anti-Terrorism Force Protection Officer.

I was stationed at Fort Bragg at the time.

Second plane told us what was going on.

What military branch is that? I applied with the CIA after 9/11. Thought by speaking three languages fluently and living overseas, I would have a shot: never heard back. Should have made one of those languages Arabic
