Would that be a pay cut?

Probably but I would definitely think that Hugh would be interested.

It would be a massive pay cut. I don’t see it.

Freeze’s contract at Liberty: 5 years for $10M
Hopson’s contract at USM: 4 years for $2M

Not worth an 80% paycut to go to a school that had a worse record than his team did in 2019. He’ll be interested but I doubt he goes.

Not a chance, unless the new president at Liberty wants to clean up the athletic department there with a new AD and coach

I hate USM more than State and LSU combined. But if they hired Freeze, it would be hard to hate them. No way in hell he leaves Liberty for that shite show though

Not gonna happen. USM alumn didn’t like having a Rebel for their coach. It was never a good fit. Freeze has a stigma in MS that isn’t gone.

USM will hire some guy 90 percent of us have never heard of and he will win 7 or 8 games a year and then either get a better job or get fired... well because 7 or 8 wins just isn’t enough for USM.

Way too big of a pay cut and their athletic department/administration/alumni association interplay is a complete shite show.

Who was that coach that USM fired 5 or 6 years ago who had them relevant and winning bowl games? And no one could really figure out why they fired him?

USM has been left in the dust with the American conference passing them up, and them being stuck in the C-USA. The C-USA is such a bad conference. I could see their program going down the toilet. I'm not sure they can hire anyone very good.

Freeze would never take that job. Even if the pay were closer it is not a better job than Liberty in terms of fit for Freeze. He can coast a few more years until enough time has passed and then he can have a real shot at another SEC job.

They will pull someone out of their asses like Memphis did with Justin Fuente and it will totally revitalize that program. I'm convinced that if Fuente didn't work out for Memphis, their football program would have folded

That's their only hope. I mean they are already have two SEC schools in state and then look at all the other middle tier schools nearby that are way better jobs - Tulane, UAB, Memphis, South Alabama, Troy, Houston, etc. I just don't believe it's a very good job at all, and they are going to continue to struggle getting decent players.

The emergence of South Alabama and ULL really screwed their recruiting up
