Sucks that the crowd will be limited for the game in Tuscaloosa, but on the bright side it won't be 110 degrees like it would have been for the regularly scheduled game.

This is obviously an important game, but I think with the other conferences sitting out it does diminish some of the importance. Highly likely that these two meet in Atlanta and I think a split gets them both in the playoffs. 3x this year is entirely conceivable

Can Bama just name a starting QB so we can start prep on the backup?

Not sure I understand why. I mean the PAC 12 hasn't sent anybody to the playoffs in years, and only one team (probably) would make it from the BIG 10, so in essence the whole process will take place without one team.
Probably Ohio State. granted, OSU is a big team, but still only one team. Whoever gets through a 10 game SEC schedule will have earned everything they get.

Correct- Removing Ohio State or a BIG10 champion means it's highly likely that the SEC sends two teams. Its either 2 from the ACC, SEC, BIG 12, or one from a G5 conference. Seems most likely to me of those scenarios that the SEC gets two in

I tend to agree, however we shouldn't overlook that if they want to sneak in UCF, this would be the year to do it. I could see them using this opportunity to do that.

Either way, whoever wins this year should proudly claim the title. Get through a 10 game SEC schedule and you've earned it.

That said, if Clemson happens to win it, then it is definitely a tainted title!
