I wonder if he sped his timeline up when he saw us drop a ton of ‘22 TE offers earlier this week.

Hogs pick up 3rd commit for the ‘22 class in SC OL Eli Henderson. Pittman must really like him to take him this early.

Must, seems pretty random to take at this time but at least he does have a Georgia and Arizona State offer.

Posting this not only for the Burns (2023) offer news but the summary of current and future recruiting.

LINK

quote:

Arkansas extended its third instate offer for the Class of 2023 on Thursday afternoon when El Dorado wide receiver DeAndra Burns got good news from Fayetteville. Burns, 5-11, 150, is a speedster who placed third in the Junior Olympics last year with a 100-meter time of 11.1.

Burns, who has been impressive to start his sophomore season, will be recruited to Fayetteville by wide receivers coach Justin Stepp and offensive coordinator Kendal Briles.

The speedy youngster caught eight passes for 109 yards and returned a kickoff for a touchdown in El Dorado's October 10 win over the Sheridan Yellowjackets.

Sam Pittman's staff has now offered three Natural State targets for the 2023 cycle, including athlete Shamar Easter of Ashdown and running back Darien Bennett of Jacksonville.

Arkansas now has 20 verbal commitments and 21 total spots filled for the Class of 2021 as Oklahoma transfer Jaquayln Crawford counts against next year's total.

The Razorbacks' offensive class consists of quarterback Lucas Coley of San Antonio (Texas) Cornerstone Christian, quarterback Landon Rogers of Little Rock (Ark.) Parkview, running back AJ Green of Tulsa (Okla.) Union, Javion Hunt of Midwest City (Okla.) Carl Albert, athlete Raheim Sanders of Rockledge (Fla.), wide receiver Jaedon Wilson of DeSoto (Texas), wide receiver Bryce Stephens of Oklahoma City (Okla.) John Marshall, wide receiver Ketron Jackson of Royse City (Texas), tight end Erin Outley of Little Rock (Ark.) Parkview, offensive lineman Terry Wells of Wynne (Ark.), offensive lineman Cole Carson of Bogata (Texas) Rivercrest, and offensive lineman Devon Manuel of Arnaudville (La.) Beau Chene.

The defensive haul includes interior lineman Solomon Wright of Vian (Okla.), outside linebacker Marco Avant of Jonesboro (Ark.), inside linebacker Christopher Paul Jr. of Cordele (Ga.) Crisp County, cornerback Keuan Parker of Tulsa (Okla.) Booker T. Washington, cornerback Chase Lowery of Frisco (Texas), and defensive back Jermaine Hamilton-Jordan of Kansas City (Mo.) Lincoln College Prep.

Arkansas is expected to sign as many as 23-25 total scholarship additions in this year's cycle.

Arkansas also has three commitments for the Class of 2023 in Greenland (Ark.) defensive end JJ Hollingsworth, DeWitt (Ark.) tight end Dax Courtney, and Duncan (S.C.) Byrnes offensive lineman Eli Henderson.

quote:

In addition to Hollingsworth and Courtney, Arkansas has extended a total of nine instate offers for the Class of 2022. The group consists of Little Rock Parkview running back James Jointer, Fayetteville wide receiver Isaiah Sategna, Fayetteville inside linebacker Kaiden Turner, Maumelle offensive lineman Andrew Chamblee, Maumelle defensive lineman Nico Davillier, Joe T. Robinson offensive lineman E’Marion Harris, and Clarendon athlete Quincey McAdoo.

The last time the Razorbacks extended double-digit instate offers in a single class was in the 2015 cycle. Arkansas signed nine of its 10 offered prospects in the class.

I think this is a super smart decision because you see right now what happens when you put guys on the field that want to be Razorbacks. Don’t get me wrong talent is important but having guys who take pride on the name on the front on the jersey as well as the back will take you a long way.

Tulsa (Okla.) Booker T. Washington five-star athlete Gentry Williams dropped his Top 10 schools Monday evening. The 2022 prospect has narrowed his focus to Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and USC.

Three of those programs are coming really hard.

quote:

“Florida, Arkansas and Oklahoma,” Williams said, adding USC has also turned up the intensity.

Regarding the Razorbacks: “I have a great, great relationship with the DBs coach in Coach (Sam) Carter. We talk very often and have a great relationship going on.”

2022 football thread never got a sticky since I started it for our in-state commits/targets with 2021 being the main focus.

The baseball thread is stickied so I can quickly edit the commit lists when we pick up commits and our 2021 signing class signed a couple weeks ago.

2022 class is going to be very telling as to whether Pittman makes Arkansas a contender or not.
Off to a slow start.

Danny said losing Stepp hurt big time on this one because they talked multiple times a day. Sucks that he didn’t give Guiton any time.
