Not gonna lie, I’m excited. Tonight:
Yankees vs. Nationals (Go Yanks!)
Giants vs. Dodgers (Go Giants!)

I feel like every game matters in a 60 game season. If the Dodgers and Nationals can lose 2 outta 3, that’s already a decent hole in a 60 game season. Getting swept back-to-back in 2 series or so will be a nightmare.

Really looking forward to this format as they’ll probably kill the 162 game format forever if this is a hit!

actually this is my nightmare. i really hope they don't overreact and mistake fan excitement and ratings during an empty stadium and sports deprived era and go overboard with changes to the game moving forward.

Really? I mean I hear what you’re saying but I’d love to cut the season from 162 to a simple 100. 50 games before all star break and 50 after.

I can’t imagine anything else will really change.

Yeah uhhhh... owners make a lot of money on gates and concessions. Owners make a lot of money on TV and radio rights to broadcast 162 games. Players are paid from all of this money that is made playing 162 games.

I’m sure fan excitement will drive owners to want to cut their revenue by 2/3. I’m sure players will look forward to contracts of 1/3 of the current expectations.

I’m sure all parties will be happy and this will happen soon.

What a silly proposal.

Baseball is a game of streaks. Remember how the Nats started out last year? They were awful but then put it together after few months and won the World Series. Teams need time and games in baseball.

But I don’t know about this season. MLB has really pissed me off getting into politics.

A season where every game counts is going to be amazing.

162 games are absurd. Only stat geeks and dudes that still collect baseball cards care to have that many.

I will likely watch MORE regular season Braves games in this 60 game season than I would a regular 162 slate, and this is taking COVID out of it.

Can't wait.
