College football players don't have a voice.

I don't want to see players being forced to choose between losing scholarships for not playing or risking infection by playing. I think that most players are willing to risk infection in order to play but some will probably opt out.

SEC schools should try to have a Fall season while continuing to honor scholarships for those who choose not to play. SEC schools should commit to covering all the medical expenses of those who choose to play.

If every player is a volunteer no one can complain. The NCAA and every conference should let players profit from their names and likenesses without any restrictions.

Mack Brown said that he told his players and their families that players' scholarships would be honored even if they chose not to play.

Mack told the players that they didn't even have to come around but he needs to be informed.

I thought Mack Brown died eight years ago.

A season off will be very damaging to some players shot at the NFL...linemen especially...give us fat frickers 20 months off and piggy gonna eat. It will be a shame not to have football but the only way I see it happening is without fans and most schools can't afford that. Most of the SEC can but others not so much.

Seriously a lot of these kids don't come from great situations....they benefit greatly from having the watchful eyes of a football staff keeping them in line and they frick up often enough with that....less time answering to coach and some will, especially in our current political climate, do some really stupid shite that they probably would not have done had they been under the thumb of a coaching staff to the same degree they would be if there was a game Saturday. I would bet this will be especially true of incoming Freshman. It would be a shame for a kid to screw their life up because they weren't under the same scrutiny they would be otherwise but I bet it happens...it happens in normal seasons.

I think you are right. If players aren't monitored in an environment with some measure of control they could be at even more risk.

The SEC was listening to you, Whiznot. Our conference agreed today that scholarships will be honored regardless of whether or not players choose to opt out of the 2020 season. Smart move.

Today is July 18, 2020. We still feel the need to stay locked down in the butt bunker. There are 166 days left in the year. I believe that 5,181 people will die per day for the rest of the year from COVID. DJS says hello, but had to wave this time. Something was in his mouth. It was a good day. Talk to you again soon.
