Lots of colleges used to use it. LSU was Ole Lou. USC was Ole USC.

People who wanna put negative connotations on it are just looking for shite to get mad about.

You need to think for yourself. And do some research. Ole Miss was also a train that ran from Memphis to Oxford.

It’s not about what I think Ole Miss is in reference to. My concern is when the public perception (especially from student athletes) is that our name/symbols are racist what that will mean for the future of the university and athletics. There’s been some recent national attention on the name so I’m worried this will become an issue, and as an alumni/fan I want us to be able to be successful in the future. That may require changing the name in my opinion. We’ll see
