Moving some discussion from the recruiting thread to a more appropriate thread.

Lets start by "break out" players for the upcoming season.

OL - Keiondre Jones
RB - MAR (Hard to believe he's bigger then Tank)
WR - Flash
TE - Luke Deal
QB - Bo
DL - if he's ever gonna do it has to be Big Kat
LB -Zacoby
DB - Zion Puckett

Hamm will have the best season on the OL so I see him as the breakout there. I think jones will start but isn’t set in stone. Also sure DJ will do even better as the starter, only got a glimpse of what he’s capable of last year but hard to see Tank not eventually taking over but it’s DJs spot to lose. Flash and Eli both can have breakout years in a more open passing offense. Bo can improve his passing 500-800 yards I think is possible for him. And can’t see Frazier not making a lot of noise even as a freshman I think he’ll be apart of the offense. On the DL I personally want to see TD have his moment. If he can take over the rush role and let Bigkat handle the end spot both will excel. LB outside of the top 4 from last year I can see O.Brothers step up some, he’s a bigger body and more fit for a true ILB. Very physical. And my breakout in the secondary is a tie between Tennison and Domio

I hope you are right about Hamm. If he and my prediction Jones come along I think our rush game will be stout. Which for Gus’ offense opens up everything. That was the problem last year the push up front. We couldnt line up in 3 and 2 and just hand it to the back and 85% of the time pick up the first down. When we can do that it makes the gimmicks and multiple deep shots per game more successful. However I’m not sure Hamm settles inside he will probably be the RT and one of the Juco guys the LT. I hope coach Bick comes in with a plan and works those guys like crazy at one position. Let’s them get comfortable and however it shakes out it shakes out. That’s the only thing I didn’t like about Coach Grimes coaching the moving around so much of the OL in camp. DB with the inexperience can be a concern but my biggest worries are OL and WR. I’m losing faith in Kodi as a recruiter and a developer of talent. What’s the highest rated WR he’s brought in, something like 19th in the country? We need to be in the running like legit running for at least one top 10 WR each year. When LSU, UGA, and Bama are getting guys every year in the top 10 prospects at WR and we are getting guys in the 30s and 40s that’s a huge talent gap.

There’s nothing wrong with WR recruiting it could be much worse with the teams we recruit against. You won’t find any other WR coaches that can recruit at Burns level that isn’t already at a stable job. Development is still and issues but recruiting is fine. Of course it could be better, same can be said about every position. We were blessed to find an immediate good recruiter to replace Craig, could’ve hired just anyone and been behind the past few years in WR recruiting instead he’s brought in multiple high rated guys that were pursued by major teams. Development also is effected by the offense and the offense has never been too passing friendly and definitely not complex just simple routes so don’t blame the WR coach for that when they’ve basically been in a system to block 90% of the time. WR is one of the most talented groups on the roster, if you’ve lost faith recruiting there then idk what to tell you. Auburn signed the #7 class last year. Pretty good to get near top 5 with who they recruit against.

Agreed JJ. The top three receivers we signed last cycle are all rated higher than Seth. When some of them said they expect to contribute this fall....I believe them.

I don't think anything is wrong with WR recruiting. We just seem to lock on to one guy and try to make him the bell cow instead of spreading around. If you look at teams like LSU and Bama they usually have 2-3 top guys. We usually have 1.

Maybe that changes with our new OC

I like Frazier at TE. Perfect size, physical, and can run.

There should be a good position battle between frazier, shenker, and deal
