Yeah, Heg was another anti-slavery activist. According to Wikipedia:
He was an outspoken anti-slavery activist and a leader of Wisconsin's Wide Awakes, an anti-slave catcher militia. During this time, he sheltered Sherman Booth, who was made a federal fugitive after inciting a mob to rescue an escaped slave.
Heg served as a colonel in the Union Army during the Civil War; he was killed at the Battle of Chickamauga.

It’s like we keep saying, it’s targeted aggression. They don’t even know why they are mad, they need something to focus that rage on, its objects now and some people. Hopefully that doesn’t switch. However, the Presidents remarks on protecting these statues is warranted IMO. It’s not ok to destroy things because you are mad.

I'm willing to wager that, next, the mob will move on to statues of John Brown and William Lloyd Garrison. Afterward, they will request that John Hopkins University change the name.
