Yes it was a landslide for Hale. Pretty much was predicted though.

Going to really miss Sheriff Berry. He was a great Sheriff.

Hale has similar ideology relative to 2nd amendment and the constitution. We are still hopeful we can make Oconee a 2nd Amendment sanctuary city.

Jimmy Williamson can EABOD. Dude was more detrimental to UGA football than Urban Meyer/Choirboy combined.

Don't forget Jan Kemp....helped put us in SEC purgatory during the late 80's and 90's.Williamson AND the AJC did their best during the 00's.

Meh. Jan Kemp damaged the public reputation of UGA and UGA football but Dooley fricked us up in the 90s by anointing Goff instead of Erk as his heir apparent.

Nope, while Dooley did slack off in his later years,he was almost completely out of the loop on the Ray Goff hiring. His focus was on politics more than anything after he retired.Knapp and Larry Walker were the amen choir for Ray Goff.Dooley was actually on leave from the AD office during the search and hiring LINK

Were you around back then? The school was getting hammered on
a daily basis by the AJC, specifically Dave Kindred and Terrence Moore...while Kemp was the victim/media darling. It certainly affected our recruiting in the late 80's and academic policies for student athletes through the Ray Goff years. We were flunking guys out left and right and also denying admissions to some who went to other SEC schools.

No doubt Ray Goff had no business being a SEC HC but her legacy certainly didn't help the situation.

I don't blame Dooley for that except for the fat that he wanted Erk to sign a 10 year contract and that scared him off. Then had the coach from NCST ready to go until the news broke a day early and it spooked him off. Then we got stuck with Goff.

Sheridan was the State coach but it was stupid for him to get pissy about his name being leaked. We did have a bunch of idiots on the search committee though

When was Hatfield a factor?
