His worst blunder last season was not letting rod kick that 53 yarder against USCjr. A failed Hail Mary instead. Really just an awful decision to not let one of our greatest kickers drill it and be the hero. Took all the confidence out of him for later in the game.

I'm not all that upset about losing Hot Rod, TBH. He was a great kicker, but I think his presence allowed the coaching staff to be way, way, way too conservative with the offensive playcalling. Hopefully the offensive staff will be more aggressive now.
