What was that stat about a team losing X number of leading receivers never makes it to the CFP?
Everyone used it against us last year, so why aren't they using it against Florida this year?

They return Pitts and Grimes.

They lose over half of their catches and yards and 2/3 of their TD receptions.
Pitts is a beast.
Trask spread the ball around a lot last year. I don't know if they have the experience to repeat that. One of the complaints from Gators is that he would force throws and get into trouble

I'm not trying to pick a fight, just wanted to start looking into the stats just to give this thread some meat on the bones.

5 of their 8 leading receivers are lost to grad/draft/etc.
They lost Van Jefferson, Swain, Cleveland, Hammond, and Perine who all accounted for about 56.4% of their total receptions and 54.5% of their total receiving yardage.
Pitts is obviously a very talented TE and Grimes is a good WR, but it's still pretty difficult to replace over half of your passing attack's production. Especially when the QB you're riding with might not be able to make the adjustment to throwing to the "newish" group.
I'm not sold on Trask being anything more than he showed us last year, a guy who Mullen can try to scheme some passes for, but doesn't really have that extra bit when he's missing that many quality, experienced WR's.
For reference we lost 5 of our 8 leading receivers from 2018 going into 2019 and that came out to a loss of 63.9% of our receptions and a loss of 73.3% of our total receiving yards.
I believe Fromm was a better college QB than Trask, and he struggled immensely with losing 5 of his 8 top targets.
I know we lost more (We lost our Top 5 out of the Top 8), but I believe my point about replacing over half your passing production remains. Our numbers just explain why our issues were so bad last year, on top of our mediocre at best OC.
