We’re in the same boat. Moved here for my job. Nice enough place but both of us grew up in slower towns and we’d like to get back there before we start a family.

There’s a lot to love about Denver and Colorado but our home is probably more square feet than our lot and we don’t know most of our neighbors.

I live in The Colony. You can't buy property in Fairhope, you lease it from The Colony. I love living in Fairhope.

I grew up in Fairhope (Battles Wharf) to be more specific. I graduated from Fairhope High School in 1981. My sister and her husband currently live in Daphne.

You really couldn't find a much better place to live in the entire Gulf Coast. However, I will acknowledge that it has become extremely pricey over the years. Other than that, the entire Eastern Shore is an incredible place to live.

My wife is a vet in Fairhope. It’s a really nice area. Like others have mentioned look to Silverhill, summerdale, magnolia springs areas for property. My in laws are building a home in daphne and all the lots in that neighborhood are an acre I believe.

We live in Spanish fort which may be too far for y’all but I love it. There is some beautiful land in the northern part of Spanish fort that is undeveloped on big rolling hills.

Baldwin county is exploding and has been for a while. You’ll have more work than you can handle as a home inspector. Good luck with the transition. Let me know if you need any more info tilcotd@gmail.com.

My retirement plan is 8 months in Baldwin Co. and 4 months in Boulder. Two of the best parts of the country, IMO.

There’s worse ways to spend retirement

Not sure where we’ll go next. I’m looking back toward the east coast

Another Fairhope resident checking in here. The sprawl of Fairhope is working it’s way east and south. Some have mentioned Silverhill, but you could also look at Barnwell, which is the southern part of Fairhope.

I’m in Rock Creek. Doesn’t sound like you would like that at all if you want land and no HOA.
