Lost an instate(Chat McCallie) 4 star DL to Auburn today. Supposedly he'd been silent to us for a while and even went as far as telling current commits on Monday that he was announcing for TN today. Flipped the script from then until earlier this morning and committed to Auburn. Lot of speculation going around about why he did it(saw somewhere that he said he didn't feel as wanted or wasn't receiving the attention he thought he deserved, other folks are saying the Aub bagmen came through). Lot of time left to flip him back since he's supposedly not signing until February, but today wasn't the best of days on the crooting trail for the staff.

Anyone have any good insights on how recruiting is going to turn out? I don't follow recruiting much anymore and am just wondering what those who are more plugged into the process think?
I'm not too concerned with recruiting rankings since so far Pruitt seems to have proven he knows how to identify real SEC talent based on the young guys seeing playing time so far.
It seems we need to find suitable replacements for Jennings/Calloway, Trey Smith (dude has to go get his money now right? Especially with his health issues.), and more DLine depth.

Those two early losses affected us huge in recruiting. This sucks.

The losses came at the worst possible time, too. We were already being negatively recruited like crazy then that happens. I’ve also been really disappointed with Tee. He has been very quiet on the recruiting trail. There are always rumors when things aren’t going well, but it is out there he is already looking to get away from Pruitt.
I think we will get some staff turnover after the season and it will be for the better.

He can obviously spot hidden talent though. I think Hyatt is going to turn out really good. It’s clear he placed a premium on speed for this years class. Plus he’s only been here one year iirc? If we can land Ger-Cari Caldwell too then I’m actually really happy with the WRs. Still wait and see on the elite prospects though. Maybe Rakim Jarrett is a vol if we don’t drop the first two games.

Had another commit yesterday. 4 star ATH from NC. Seems like a good get. My only reservation (and this is complete speculation on my part) is that he might just be gaming the system for clout. A lot of recruits nowadays have been saying things like “first fan base to get me to 10k followers (on twitter or ig)” and shite like that.
Feel like he might be one of those. Thankfully a few players/commits have called recruits out on shite like that.
