I pray for each of their families. We lost a 96 year old man today in Kentucky that stormed Omaha Beach on D-Day. God Bless his brave soul.

Yep, the normal death rate of that age group is higher than the death rate of the virus.

Guessing that many of these cases were contracted via New Orleans shortly after Mardi Gras.

Imagine how pissed you’d be if you spent eternity knowing you’d snuffed it cause you had to New Orleans for MardisGras good god almighty that’s a waste....I’d rather know I died at the DMV or the Dentists office.....

Number for Nashville is way off. Metro Nashville releases numbers daily. 13 deaths as of today. The county to the northeast has 24 deaths but 17 of those were out of one nursing home.

Here is the Fatality Rate for Major Southern Metro areas (1 Million residents or more).... this definition of the South is rather broad, but if you include Kansas City and St. Louis for SEC purposes, you've got to include the major cities in Oklahoma, North Carolina, and Virginia, IMO.

Fatalities per 1 Million for Major Southern Metros:

436.9- New Orleans
46.2- Louisville
41.6- Miami
41.5- Richmond
34.7- Atlanta
34.2- Tulsa
31.4- St. Louis
27.9- Oklahoma City
26.3- Nashville
23.6- Mamphis
16.7- Birmingham
16.7- Jacksonville
12.8- San Antonio
11.0- Tampa
10.9- Dallas
10.1- Houston
9.6- Orlando
9.2- Charlotte
6.4- Austin
5.9- Virginia Beach
2.9- Raleigh

**The fatality rate in New Orleans continues to blow my mind.

**The major metros in Texas are doing an excellent job.

**These 22 major Southern metros combine for a population of 59.9 million and have an average fatality rate of 29.7 per million people.

**If you take out New Orleans, the numbers shrink to 58.6 million and a rate of just 20.7 per 1 Million.

**The national average is 69.2... meaning the South has for the most part been spared compared to many other parts of the country.

Here is an update for the SEC Metros:

130.0- Baton Rouge
61.6- Athens
48.8- Auburn
45.8- College Station
26.3- Nashville
24.0- Columbia, SC
20.0- Starkville
18.2- Oxford
13.5- Lexington
9.1- Knoxville
5.6- Columbia, MO
0.0- Tuscaloosa
0.0- Gainesville
0.0- Fayetteville

**With a population of 549,000, metro Fayetteville has got to be close to the largest metro in the country to still not have a fatality. Just scanning over best I can, the only metro larger than Fayetteville that I can find without one is Provo, UT (population 634,000).
