Kroger was fairly civil earlier....
but their stock was definitely dwindling...
had an end of the world vibe.

Go buy your tonic water now. Stores are sold out in the Pine Belt.
Unfricking real.

Just saw where David Johnson of the Spirit has COVID and is on a ventilator. Apparently his wife also tested positive.

Yeah dude it’s very bad. Ben talked to them and it’s looking grim for David.

Update on my dad: Last night we received good news! They were able to turn his vent back from 70 to 60 and his oxygen levels stay at 98%. I just got the call this morning that it was still at 60, and he is stable. So he held this overnight!! This is such a small baby step, but it is in the right direction. They’ve also inserted a feeding tube. He was very dehydrated going into the ICU, because he wasn’t able to keep anything down. Now, they’re able to give him all the nutrients he needs to start healing.
My mom is still doing good! She said she woke up feeling rested this morning, and she believes her medication is working!
This is the first morning in a week that I have woken up feeling peaceful. I was flooded with thousands of messages yesterday. We are being covered in prayer from all over the place, and we are feeling it. Please keep the prayers and positive thoughts coming our way. God’s got this.

Does anyone have any update on David Johnson? There have been lots of tweets asking for prayers, etc. today but no one has provided any substantive information.

This is sad AF... sounds like it’s very grim

This might be the last time I come to ask for prayers for my sweet daddy. This infection has just over taken his body. I know I have felt comfort and peace this week through the power of prayer. I need my dad to feel how loved he is. I need him to know that everything will be okay no matter what. He is going through something that no one should ever have to experience alone. We should be there with him, and we can’t even pick up the phone to call him. It is heartbreaking. If you would please cover him in love and prayers I could never thank you enough.

Was gonna read in The Grove Saturday, but the new restrictions have finally gotten that area closed off. Imagine, reading at a picnic table alone with plenty of space

Sounds like David Johnson turned a corner yesterday and is now conscious.
Still a long road ahead but there seems to be hope now

There were folks out there today. I've been running on campus since you can at the moment, and folks are always out and about in the Grove and the Circle, and actually being pretty responsible for the most part.

Really? UPD came out and cleared it when I was there last Saturday. They'll be off and on with it I'm sure

It's day 15 on the vent. David successfully breathed on his own two separate times for a total of four hours. He is still on the vent but is improving some every day. He is turning his head and opening his eyes but not on command. Thank you for all of your continued prayers and support. Never out of the fight. Ever.
Pretty incredible he's still alive. A week ago it sounded as if they were just waiting for the inevitable. The doctors told them previously, if he was still on the ventilator at 14 days there was a zero percent chance of survival. David's body is fighting hard though to prove them wrong.
