Who coaches the defense to make those sacks, secure tackles?

You telling me if YOU coached a kid to do something, he'd NEVER get it wrong?? You should definitely coach
NFL players miss plays too, guess the HCs should be fired

And did you just call Florida players shitty?

Nope, don't dodge the question, whos defense works with sub par players?
Funny how Charlie Strongs defenses at UF were lights out but got his arse handed to him at USF.. I cant put a finger on it.

? There isn't a single position that's below average

Our DTs are pretty average, but then youre talking about vs LSU and UGA, 2 teams with 2 of the best OLs in the Nation.

Grantham had the personnel and shite the bed for the biggest games of the year.

Against teams with first round picks at nearly every position, please name our front 7 and safety defenders who are going in the upper end in the draft not named Greenard who wasn't 100% when we played those 2 games

Actually that would be the position coaches who are 2 of our best coaches/recruiters. You wanna fire them?

Charlie would be a fantastic option

His defense gave up 49 points to Wisky / Memphis and 48 to SMU.. by YOUR logic, isn't that a bad scheme or were those 2 teams just more talented?

Again, players matter.

Which player on our two deep is "subpar"? And you compared them to LSU, who we did better than statistically on defense.

I just want to know how you guys are saying that we don't have the personnel when we clearly do.

The defensive line averaged 4 years of experience.

There wasn't a single starting DB without starting experience.

The LBs all had quite a bit of experience, with a Freshman standing out (Diabate).

Grantham had the personnel, he just had an unbelievably shitty scheme in our biggest games. Make them beat you and execute, don't wait for them to beat you, which is exactly what he did.

Who on our front 4 commands dbl teams and destroys blocks on a consistent basis?

Other than Zack Carter, our front 7 is all 3 star recruits, going up against 2 teams with top classes the past how many years now?

Plenty of players with longevity, doesn't make em great.

Yeah, a Mullen / TG player who is a 4 star came in and did very well. Im talking about the starters who are Mac Specials who were 3 star croots.

That's funny, I recall before the UGA game we all said stop the run and we win. Zone defense is better vs the run with more eyes so he did what we were all thinking.
Go back and watch theit biggest run, our LB hit the hole and got shook out of what would've been a no gain that turned into their biggest run of the day. Again, all the DC can do is call the play. Which he did.

I just gotta laugh when ppl blame the UGA game ALL on the defense. They scored 24 points and ppl act like we gave up 40. Our Offense didn't exactly light it up that game, I remember watching them flop around till the 4th qtr before we did anything.
2/9 on 3rd down, 1.1 ypc average? Yeah, its all on TG why we lost to UGA

Team played like shite. End of story

12 - 18 on defense is what lost the game, period. We let them do exactly what they wanted to do -- shorten the game and give our offense less of a chance to actually do something.

Also, shitting on 3-stars, lol.

Jonathan Greenard
Jabari Zuniga

Come on, man, Grantham mailed it in on two games and had the exact same gameplan: Sit back and wait for the opposing team to make a mistake, when they don't, sit back some more.

He called some bad games, that's it. He can fix it by actually believing in his players this year.

What happens in football when the other team scores? Oh, we get the ball. Why couldn't we score or convert on 3rd downs offensively? Down in the 4th and we're going on 6 min drives. The team stunk it up, we avg'd 1 yard a fkn carry man. ONE

You named 2 who played above their ranking, both of who were hurt those games. Who else you got??
Hell, if not for TG we wouldn't have Greenard.

Face it man, Mac n Shannon screwed the pooch on defensive recruiting.

Well, they should be better talent wise across the board so hope so.

Well let's start with the bowl game.

Our players didn't exactly give the best effort we've seen from them. Our opponent was underwhelming and we played poorly, but still won I'll take it.

No. But you are missing the fact that this was a pretty good damn defense. I mean you really, really put it all on Grantham when we scored 17 on Georgia total, with a horrid call on top of that?

All I'm saying is Granthan is a very good DC. Not elite, mind you. But very good. With the right pieces his scheme is incredibly good. We have more of those pieces this year, which will show on the field. Will he still give up third and longs? Yep. Will piss us off to no end. We will also be close to top on conference for turnovers, interceptions, red zone percentage, etc.

We should be fine. We will have enough defense to set the offense up to win any game we play.

I put it on the defense because the offense had 9 attempts to make a third down.

Georgia had 18.

They held the ball, they bled the clock, they did exactly what Georgia did.

We took no risks, let them go up and down the field, dominate us in time of possession (they had almost 11 more minutes of TOP) and the thing you guys just don't understand:

South Carolina had just provided the blueprint on how to beat their offense.

Like, in the same timeline, right before we played them.

South Carolina's defense is not better equipped or more talented to run that type of defense, they just ran it. Grantham didn't.

He called a shitty game and let Georgia do what they do, get over it.

UVA I'll give you the excuse that we didn't wake up -- it's the coach's job to wake people up. Against LSU we did the same thing we did against Georgia, so we knew it could beat us.

Grantham should get one more year, but if he costs us another game by terrible scheming then we need to try something else.

So Strong to Alabama is official, eh? Guess we couldn’t match that Bama checkbook.
