Consider the UF-UVA game from this perspective

Trask plays his worst game of the season, still throws for 300+, UF outgains UVA by almost 200 yards, Mullen basically gives two shits in the 3rd Q, and UVA's QB pulls hoodini escapes on every play.

And we're still up by 15 on the ACC's 2nd best team with 2 minutes to go.

You guys are insufferable at times

Yeah, this is the same team that lost to Miami.

A Miami team who literally couldn't score against Louisiana Tech. As in, they literally got shut out. Zero.

Just for perspective, that was an LA Tech team that lost to Marshall 10 - 31.

Who let Texas San Antonio 41 - 27.

Dan coached a subpar game, Todd Grantham is clearly on his way out the door as soon as we finish everything up. It was fun to win, but this is still the Orange Bowl. It's not like it's the Alamo or Walk-On Bowl.

UVA played their asses off and it wasn’t a close game at all, despite what the scoreboard says.

Considering we are just two years from the disastrous 2017 season, winning by 8 in a NY6 bowl against a top 25 team isn’t a bad result at all.

Is it really that big of a deal to beat a UVA team who lost to Miami?

Would they even be third in the SEC East?

They just had a 62 burger put up on them against Clemson.

This was not a very solid win against a very mediocre UVA team that was fortunate to play in the ACC. I'd like to see us play with more urgency next year, especially if we're in another NY6 bowl.

I’ll never bitch again about a win. Said that after 2017 and still stand by it.

The guys wanted to be in the playoffs. Period.

I can guarantee you they did NOT want to play UVA, despite what they said to the media.

And in playing the way they did, they showed why theyre not in the playoffs.

Lack of killer instinct. This is the game you win by 40 to make your case for the playoffs. Not pout n halfass it

He should’ve left last year while he had the chance.

I hate these fricking excuses in bowl season.

I didn't see anything in the team that led me to believe they didn't care about this game.

The OL played their best game of the year. Perine was on a mission, the front 7 dominated against the run and hit hard all game.

Just because UF gave up some 50-50 balls to some good, experienced WRs is no reason for us to lose our mind.

I never said that - I said they DIDN'T WANT TO BE IN THE GAME.

They cared about winning of course.

Which is exactly my point in the OP - the game wasn't close despite how sloppy the team was at times

I mean, it was close. It was 27-21 in the 4th quarter and UF had to convert a 4th and 1 at their own 45 to keep Virginia from getting the ball back in a position to take the lead.

UF dominated statistically, but Virginia did just enough to keep themselves in it against a superior opponent and really played out of their minds in the 4th quarter. That's the big thing.

Ill take a win in the Orange Bowl under any circumstances.

Trask was a little off but still made plays.

D Backs were lost, or seemed to be.

Happy for LP2 showing.

This team took another step in getting us back to where we all want to be and deserve credit for such.

11-2 be proud. I can't wait for 2020. Go Gators!
