Only head coach to win a Ny6/BCS bowl in each of their first 2 years at a school. Y'all gotta chill and enjoy this win. We were 4-8 two years ago how quickly we forget. We have studs coming in at every position of need. Let this build.

I gladly take mindset that vs teams like Auburn, LSU and Georgia. But VA? Cmon man. Not one player on that team starts for UF. Shouldve blew the doors off that team

Team was not focused tonight.

You don't have to be miserable, you just have to be objective. Right now, there is literally no coach in the country I would trade Mullen in for.

But man, there are parts of his staff that are simply not pulling their weight right now.

Offensive Line is at least good at pass protection, straight arse on run protection.

WRs have been a complete mess for as much talent and seniority as we have. In the biggest game of the year we didn't have the right plays coming in to the receivers -- a huge problem for the positions coach.

RBs have actually done very well for just how bad the offensive line has been. Recruiting has been a shitshow, unless we get Lingard but people should be flocking to Florida to play RB.

QBs, Mullen's responsibility is the only part of the team that has been gradually improving outside of tonight. The play selection was terrible and Mullen didn't even bother helping Trask who was clearly struggling for most of the game. A lot of those passes are called pre-snap and many of them were long developing plays. Just not good. We have got to be more creative in the future.

DL, fantastic. No complaints whatsoever.

LBs, fantastic, no complaints outside of some coverage.

CBs, no bueno. Henderson and Elam were good. Dean is slow and terrible at STAR. Terrible. He will never be CGJ. Wilson has looked slow and uninspired, not very physical (Henderson, too). We just got dunked on by Virginia, those were the most touchdown passes in a game that their QB has thrown.

Safeties: Even worse. Good run support, can't cover at all. I wouldn't mind using a stellar athlete we have coming in and just trying them at Safety. Elam included. However, covering, they always seem to make the incorrect read.

It's fun to win, but we're trying to win championships, not be uncomfortable with a team that we out-talent at every single position.

Meh. They have good receivers.

They got lucky on some passes thrown up for grabs. It happens.

If it wasnt the last game of the season I would agree but c'mon you got all off-season to talk about what needs to improve. Enjoy our success and what the team accomplished despite the issues this year for at least a couple days.

I can enjoy our win and 11-win season while acknowledging that people have a point when they say that the defense has struggled to be consistent all year.

I am very happy with the result of the season, opened my statement saying that I wouldn't trade Mullen -- but people definitely have a point about our position coaches simply not getting it done.

I have pretty significant issues with the defensive scheme.

But the more I watch the more I realize it’s a talent issue. The safeties and nickel position especially just aren’t very good. No elite speed or recovery, poor instincts and ball skills, and Middling tacklers.

Until new blood gets in their I doubt they’ll ever be better than just ok.

With that perspective in mind, the fact that uf had a top 10 scoring defense this year paints the defensive coaches in a better light.

I do worry what happens to this defense without Reese. Next closest tackler this year was 40 tackles away in the 50s.

I don't think it has anything to do with talent. They're all pretty decent recruits and upperclassmen. They did well against mediocre QBs all season but any time we had a QB that could read the defense he did whatever he wanted.

Talent will not overcome soft coverage, period. You can't play scared in the SEC, especially with an offense like what we have. I wish Grantham would press and crash, but instead we got limp-dick crash and super soft coverage.
