I think this is a Taggart type hire. Not sure though. i would've thought they would've went after Kiffin.

Kiffin seems like a better hire. Norvell just took over a good team and kept it up. A guy who built a program up would be a better choice .

Could be good, could be bad. Either way not a scary name as of right now.

I don’t think Norvell will have the recruiting ability to turn around that abomination of a roster they have right now.

Next year will be the least talented FSU team in any of our lifetimes. Except for reel, because he’s seen every FSU team every fielded. They probably weren’t as talented when the only team they had was an all girls powder puff squad.

I think the problem, wholly, is that FSU has to turn around very quickly. They are bleeding cash, their football program doesn't turn a revenue (and their numbers have to be horrendous this season) and of course recruits are starting to look at FSU like the McElwain days but worse since McElwain actually won games his first two seasons.

I'd hate to be the next FSU HC, it's basically: Fix the team, work with a little talent while we hedge for a much better coach in the future.

If FSU had any balls they'd go after The Pirate, none other than Mike Leach over at WSU.

If that guy can take two-stars and make them competent enough to compete for the PAC-12, he can take this FSU staff and turn it around immediately as long as he gets his QB.

Norvell will be done in three years, Florida is probably about to go on an 8 year run.

I agree, the only thing they have going for them is that the ACC is so horrendous as a conference that any average coach can win 8-9 games at FSU. Just goes to show how bad Taggart was

McElwain won ten games with a completely broken offensive line, a WR playing QB for half of the season and a kicker experiencing the yips.

Taggart may be the worst hire in modern history at a P5 program.

Norvell would have been a great hire for ole miss or maybe Arky because of recruiting in Memphis area. I don’t think he is a good hire for FSUcks because he had little success in recruiting in the state and has no history of rebuilding damaged programs. I ain’t scared!

I didn't even think of those angles. He will be extremely easy to negatively recruit, too. "Oh, Taggart 2.0? Yeah, G5 teams are a lot easier to run than P5. Remember McElwain? Yeah, he was successful, too."

Gonna be a bumpy road rebuilding from basically scratch. Their mentality and S&C program was markedly worse than even McElwain's and that is saying a lot.
