some interesting tidbits.

- addresses swift and Fromm at 6:00 mark
- Said Pittman called the 3rd and short toss sweep
- Took tape of Texas A&M QB sneak plays to offense to show them how its done.

Some other candid responses too.

Damn he straight up said it wasn’t the play calling but lack of execution

....which I would agree with tonight

Said the play where Swift ran into a blitz was due to milking the clock and not being able to change it up.

Most honest I’ve seen him about offensive struggles in years.

I don’t expect him to (nor do I think he should) openly trash Fromm specifically, but he effectively did that without saying his name. That presser at least tells me he knows it’s an issue, which I didn’t think he understood after the USC and Kentucky games. So that’s an improvement at least.

We should have put A&M away 5 different times tonight.

Well, Kirby is responsible for Jake's play either way...

He said we didn’t execute. Of course he was talking about Fromm. I was talking specifically about the play that pissed off Swift.

When the other teams know 1st down and 2nd down are run plays and 3rd is a pass play and that is your mo on 80% of your drives then it is as much play calling as it is execution.

I just don’t get calling out the defense for being gassed when it was the offenses fault for going 3 and out so much. Especially calling out Jordan Davis by name when you say nothing about the receivers or Fromm.

But it isn't.We had 9 1st down passes tonight and several passes on 2nd.Run,Run,
Pass was probably our play sequence about 30%% of the time tonight. You REALLY need to pay attention when you're watching games.

Predictable play calling puts extra pressure to the QB. We are passing when we have to instead of when we want to.

Except we weren't predictable tonight.

He also said Coley was an excellent play caller.

Also, why is pitman and coley calling plays?

Not as predictable down wise but same crummy pass plays, a bunch of slow developing ones at that.

So the narrative has changed now? Run,Run Pass is all I heard from his detractors but that's not the complaint now?

Let me see.We ran a flea flicker, wheel route (both of which were wide open BTW) We ran slants , back shoulder passes and fly patterns.ALL these passes were either successful and if they weren't the ball was dropped or overthrown.

I’ve not been a Coley fan all year, but he wasn’t the problem last night. It was straight up execution. Most of that lack of execution is and has been on Jake. He is just not making the throws this season on a consistent enough basis.

Coley isn’t a long term solution, but tonight it wasn’t him that held the offense back.

i actually appreciate the fact that we can blame play calling when we think that's the issue and execution when we think that's where we are lacking.

i tend to agree with this thread so far in saying that jake simply didnt execute last night. i don't think that's been the case in every game, but it certainly was last night.

Execution is also the coach's responsibility.... They act like some how it's not and that's a problem.

Jake has had some good moments this season, so it’s certainly not all on him. He’s had a lot of ‘meh’ type games this season. He’s had a few ugly games and he’s really only had one game I would call good. Some of it has been playcalling throughout the season and some of it is inexperienced WR...some of it is just that Jake has been inconsistent.
