Just re-watching the LSU/Bama game and I had forgotten about this.
The CBS guys are idiots, the bring in their rules expert “Joe Steratore” about the Moss catch and that idiot at first said a player could come back in bounds and establish and catch the ball with that being legal. He didn’t even know that was illegal which it is. A player can not go out and come back in and catch the ball without being forced out, which Moss was.
Then Joe states this call will be overturned it clearly was an illegal catch. Not one second later the ref says “Joe your an idiot, that was a legal catch the player was forced out and then came back in and established his feet inbounds”
That whole group are morons!

More important Diggs tipped the pass before Moss touched it. It was a legit catch any way you slice it.
People whose eyesight is insufficient to see that the ball was tipped should be disqualified from being referees.

I don’t think it’s a pipe dream. CBS pays us peanuts and supposedly didn’t Renegotiate in good faith when we added 2 new teams in 2012 like the conference wanted. Hopefully ABC picks us up.

Doesn't Disney own ABC and a huge stake in ESPN. Be awesome if they get the deal, then we could have more primetime games on ABC.

The bigger thing for me is all the commercial breaks. I need to find the thread the broke down the commercial breaks during the Auburn game. It was ridiculous.

The current contract doesn’t end until 2023. CBS is not only enjoying the best deal in sports broadcast rights, but probably the best deal across all TV and streaming entertainment mediums.
The theory is that if CBS doesn’t renegotiate and extend the deal soon, then the SEC will definitely go elsewhere in 2023.
As of now, CBS has the inside track, but the SEC is getting robbed.

sounds to me like your issue with one employee rather than the entire network

The worst part is the 4 hour games. There is way too many commercial breaks.

Overall, I enjoy the CBS production. However, they will likely lose it when it comes up. Right now, they have one of the most lopsided deals around. We get something like 6 M a game. It should be 60+ M. The SEC will get a nice influx of cash in 2023 (24?).

I agree, I don't mind the CBS production/presentation of SEC football. I do hate the announcers though. Kessler/Danielson just don't get it done in my opinion. Too boring and unexciting, plus Gary is just losing it.
I do love the SEC on CBS theme music intro though. Iconic.

I was questioning that play for a while.

How so? They've been complete dicks in regards to the contract. They refused to renegotiate even when the conference expanded in '12.
SEC is not happy with them

My issue is 10 minute commercial breaks every time someone sneezes

That will not change with a network change. Too much ad revenue involved.
TV timeouts are the worst thing that ever happened to televised football on any level.
The networks and advertisers have literally bought the sport.

CBS is the only one with four hour games.
