This has to be the fewest big TD runs I can ever remember us having.
Yep, feels like run production is way down. I have not looked at numbers but that is the gut feeling.

2017 we averaged 258 ypg rushing. (Chubb, Michel, Swift, Holyfield, Herrien)
2018 - 239
2019 so far - 216

‘ lot of the best runs are inside the tackles where the back bounced them outside’
And a whole lot of those back in 2017 were led by the fullback, which Kirby has abandoned.
If we are that committed to the power run game fine, bring back the fullback and start throwing play action to the tight ends again.
The first f*ing play of the game was spread formation with 4 wideouts and then straight dive up the middle... seriously? How about taking one of those wideouts and giving our back a lead blocker instead?
How about putting both Swift and Herrien in the backfield at once and screwing with the defenses mind a bit?
How about ANYTHING creative?

You do realize that no one has ever called a fullback lead creative in the history of college football.
The playcalling the past 2 games has been creative. The efficiency and execution has been hit or miss.

The way offenses are running now, it actually kind of is. Everything old becomes new again.
