Was Ole Miss-Georgia a heated rivalry when we played them annually?

I didn't realize OM used to play UGA annually before the SEC made the move to keep one permanent cross-divisional opponent. FWIW I became affiliated with OM in the mid 2000s after that happened, so it never really occurred to me. I was interested in Miss St-Georgia football history and it led me to review our history with UGA. Anyways, was it a true rivalry? I mean they definitely had our number in the 80s and late 90s through 2000s.
I'm just curious how the overall feel and atmosphere compared to OM-Miss St or OM-LSU. Even though Arkansas-OM is technically a rivalry, it's never really felt that way to me. Was OM-UGA more intense, about the same?

For some reason, we always got a lot of player injured when we played them. It was pretty one sided but we got some of our big upsets against them.

As heated as Kentucky.

It was about the same as our "rivalry" with Arkansas, Kentucky, or Tennessee (who we also used to play most years). SEC opponent, but nothing like State or LSU.

I know. Tinypic and whatnot. I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

We had a solid rivalry with Arky back when they were in the Southwest Conference. Back when we were good and I thought I had a real future ahead of me. :)

That would explain the flak I get from UT fans. I live in TN and when I say I'm an OM fan and alumni they treat me similar to how State fans do.

The 2014 game vs Tenn was one of my favorite as a student because of the old school feel of the game build up and I think it was the 2nd most road fans I ever saw in Oxford/tGrove aside from Texas in 2012.
I guess it also helps that we absolutely blew the doors off of them.

I was thinking about when DMC went off, then I was like 2014 was too late for that. I watched 2014 at a lake cabin while it was pouring arse rain lol. Good times.

The Dexter game was 2009, not 2014.
Video highlights
Update: Damn, watching that... I wish we still had him on the team.

DM would flat make a defender look foolish.

The guy could basically run as fast sideways as he could forward. It’s like his torso was on a swivel. He single-handedly won us several games I remember.
