51K watched the WV game. Coming off a win, will more come to see mighty SEMO...or less because it's SEMO?

Less for SEMO. USCe will be a good draw. Handle that game and Kentucky and Florida will be a big draw.

Yes I know Kentucky is on the road. Lose to Kentucky and Georgia and Florida game won’t have 50k, but handle SC at home and Kentucky then attendance will be good to close the season out.

Was initially surprised by this, but that was about average for all of last season. Pretty pathetic IMO. As the only P5 State School, it should be easy/almost always fill up. Especially for P5 opponents. Honestly think the move to the SEC has more to do with attendance than people think.
Fun little stat I found after a little research: Every single year from 2000-2015 (So good and bad times, pre-Pinkel to present) had at least 1, if not multiple, games with 60k plus attendance. 2016-present, we haven't had a single game with 60k attendance...with Georgia game in 2018 topping those years out at 58,248. Take it for what its worth.
*Yes, I did my part and showed up.

I think we all know why attendance has nosedived post-2015. I have to admit, I didn’t think it would have the lasting impact that it has, nor did I think it would be so significant. It’s too bad.

^^^ this is exactly what the issue is. Lists of Mizzou fans checked out never to return. And now we have a 4 year period of graduates that experienced that, along with bad seasons to boot. That’s going to affect attendance

Was it 51k?
Never got a great view on TV but under Sterk, the AD had been releasing tickets sold as the attendance number and not actual attendance.

Next week is parent's weekend, which will inflate the numbers slightly.

especially with the freshman class being much larger than the last few years.

I'd say so. Upper corners were empty, but the rest was pretty filled in on the East and West stands. South endzone was VERY empty.

Speaking of the South Endzone... How was it? Did they even open up all of it?

It was all open I believe. I would say the South endzone is "fine". It looks pretty similar to the old bleachers as far as how "imposing" the structure is. Obviously it looks a lot different and nicer, but the size is about the same as the previous setup. The corners leave something to be desired.
But I guess at least they got the new facilities they were after.

Not done yet. Have the concrete pillars where the overhangs are going to go, but still not complete. I'd imagine they will add a real concession stand there eventually, but it was just like a little hot dog vendor there for this game. It did connect to East/West sides, so concessions weren't far away.

I disagree with that. The new complex has 5 times the presence the old South EZ had. Especially from field level. It’s just bigger, and significantly taller.
I do wish they would have found a way to connect the corners better though. I would have preferred it look more integrated. All in all it’s a very nice addition

It probably was 51k paid, but I don't think there was more than 40k there, if that.
I saw a price for making the corners look nice. I don't remember what it was but it was a lot, like another 50 mil.I know they considered it.

The corner gaps kill the stadium impact of the SEZ. It may be taller than the old SEZ but from standing on the field it has less of a presence. It feels more open than pre reno.

Expect the attendance to be poor today

Why? It's not an 11 game and it's a conference game and its SC.
