It was still open when I was in Tuscaloosa in April of 2018 but according to Google it is “permanently closed”. Such is life with craft breweries.

Good grief! Does anything stay open in Tuscaloosa? There are very few establishments that are still open from when I graduated in 2009. Is Harry's still holding the fort down for underage coeds?

Has Band of Brothers Brewery closed?
Yep, they closed a few months ago. They had pretty good beer and a cool taproom, but I guess never really could get their footing.
Druid City and Black Warrior the only breweries in town as far as I know.

A lot of the craft brewery growth since 2012 has tapered off. Just a saturation of the market. But you’d think Tuscaloosa could mange more than two.

It has turned into a "what you done for me lately" industry. The smaller breweries that are successful are the ones that have turned to more brewery-only releases, small batches, and more inventive recipes.
I don't know what happened with Band of Brothers. I liked the beers I had from them. But I will say their taproom was in a somewhat inconvenient location. I would imagine slow taproom sales played at least a small part in their closing, but that's just speculation. Black Warrior makes very average beer, at best, but they'll be able to survive because of their location.

I live in Little Rock. We have a dozen or so breweries. A couple of the smaller ones have closed recently. But replaced by new ones seemingly overnight.

I actually like them. But I don’t live in Alabama anymore and it’s just a tourist stop for me.

Absolutely. Black Warrior is surviving off location. It certainly isnt their beer. While I like Druid City, they are far from doing anything innovative or new.
The good news is Trim Tab is absolutely killing it in Bham.

They seem content just doing their thing and relying on taproom sales...which is totally fine. I love the vibe at their taproom and their Downtown North Porter.

Yep. They are pretty much printing money. Their last two IPA releases - Citra Singularity and Giant Steps - have been two of their best, IMO.
Ghost Train is doing good things as well.

Couple of projects...
If people remember the crimson bridge over Mcfarland that'll act as a gateway to Tuscaloosa.
It recently got a $7 million infusion from Sen Shelby.
LINK
It's a part of an $83 million project. Started in Jan. 2018 and expected to be completed in Dec 2020.
And here's a live cam of the progress of the luxury condos next to BDS.

Phenomenal. Their best yet, IMO.

Tuscaloosa is getting a Foosacklys on 15th and I’m unreasonably excited. GOAT chicken finger place from Mobile. My fellow 251 people will understand.
