Is there any risk of him leaking our plays on D to them?

That would have required him to be able to understand and execute them... :rimshot: j/k

Ultimately, there's not much that he'd be able to share that they can't get from film study. He left early enough in camp that we hadn't even begun game prep/planning... it was almost purely fundamentals work to my knowledge.

Also, most coaches would likely have to be super skeptical of planning around an existing play book... too easy to use previously existing plays as disguises for alternative schemes...

The only advantage he may take with him is knowing some of our Tackles tendencies. Fortunately, Thomas and Wilson aren’t going to have a lot to exploit if he’s eligible this year (doubtful) and he won’t have a lot to go off of against Mays, Salyer, or Truss next year

Exactly...

And hell, this off-season, he's been running with the 2's and 3's. So may have more to go on with Salyer or Mays, but by 2020 it won't be fresh by any means.

A friend told me this morning that Cox threw punches at Dan Lanning and Kirby while throwing a temper tantrum over losing starting position.

If the NCAA allows him an immediate waiver after what I heard, AJ and TG3 better come back with law suits.

Cox is an undisciplined 5-Star bust.

If that was the case, he’d have been kicked off the team. He wasn’t. It was a mutual parting of ways.

Don’t feed the rumor mill

I don’t know the specifics, but Cox did not have the opportunity to return to UGA.

Much like “mutual resignations” in the business world, there is the public messaging, and the actual reality.

Yeah, but pretty sure that Kirby was directly asked and he said that Cox was leaving of his own free will. Now how truthfulnthat is, I don’t know. But I highly doubt he would have been violent towards coaches. And it doesn’t do the Georgia program any good to be talking up 5 start recruits being miserable after getting here. I’m trying not to sound like an arse. But I’m just suggesting we be careful with what we say

I can’t corroborate any rumors about fights, arguments, etc.

Don’t have any interest in it one way or the other.

I can with complete confidence say that it was made clear to Cox that he was not welcome to return, and that he had multiple chances to get his act together.

The term “locker room cancer” would be apt.
