Way too early 2020 question - long

I know we are on the precipice of the 2019 season but I can’t help but think of what type of team we could be heading into 2020. Losing Holloman gives me pause this year because I really felt like he was going to be Fromm’s security blanket. I know we have talented receivers but replacing so many experienced starters is a concern for me. I fully believe we can beat Bama once this year but if we have to play them twice I don’t think we can beat them a second time. Bama’s record setting offense form last year is largely intact. Their O-line is not what it has been but it should be good enough for anyone they face this year in the playoffs or SECCG. Their D line is still top 5 because that’s what Bama does. With Tua, Najaee, and three WR’s and their other early attrition probably leaving 2020 would be their least dominant team in a LONG time.
If we don’t win it all this year and a majority of the juniors coming back for 2020 I could see where UGA gets a title in 2020. I see where UGA could win it all this year but I also realize what an opportunity we have in 2020 as well. On top of that Clemson will be fielding its least dominant DL this year and a very young D line next year. Trevor is incredible but I also see where they will be more vulnerable in 2020 as well.
I don’t think Thomas, Swift, Kindley are coming back regardless of what happens this year and if JJ has the type of season some are expecting I doubt he is back either. The guys below are the guys that are going to have to make decisions about early entry. If we get a significant amount of these guys back it would be a senior laden NC type team.
I believe all of the guys on this list will have good enough draft grades to go if they wanted to. Probably a decent amount of them will have top 3 round grades. Do they pull what the 2017 Seniors did and come back for one last shot at a NC and to improve their draft status?
Juniors that could come back and make 2020 a senior laden team.
Fromm- He’s the lynchpin, but clearly the one with the highest rating. If he doesn’t come back I am not sure how much the others matter. He would have returning receivers that have proven themselves in 2019 and chemistry that has been developed.
Wilson- Slide over to LT to give the pros something to look at?
Cleveland- Move to LG and stay paired up with Wilson
Stokes- He’s going to shoot up draft boards.
DRob- same as Stokes.
Lecounte- He could play himself into an early entry position.
Rice - If he stays healthy this year he could play himself into a good draft position.
Herring- With so many DL leaving this year he is almost a must for the Dline next year.
Wyatt - Same as Herring
Anyways I know people are focused on the 2019 season and seeing how it plays out. Depending on who comes back I think we could be in for the best 2 year run we have had and that we are in the middle of the 80-82 run, just backwards

Well yes, because it’s less than a month away
But to answer your question I think Wilson could very well be gone and we’ll slide Mays to LT. Not worried about OL at all going forward.

I know Wilson probably isn’t coming back. I also agree on Cade sliding over. It looks like we would be starting TF Broderick Jones Or Ratledge on the other side. I love our OL options but the difference between a freshman and a junior/senior can be big.

We going to the “next years our year” already?
The exact same threads were made last year about 2019. Everyone said this year was it. Loaded with 5 stars, all Kirby’s players, etc. let’s not make excuses before we even get started.

We better do it this year bc next years schedule looks like a meat grinder

The pessimism is ridiculous.
THIS year is the year.
1. Fromm is almost certainly gone next year.
2. The offense will lose 5 first-second round picks.
3. The 2020 defense will be elite if it meets expectations, but if that's the case the 2019 defense will be close with almost all the same players.
4. This squad is the most talented roster UGA has ever had. If you're not ready to take it to the mats right now you never will be.

If we don’t win it all this year I bet he’ll be back. I think he’s that kind of kid and was a UGA fan before he wore the red and black.

I bet he returns, if his draft grade places him outside what he wants/expects for money, that he can get based on his draft pick.

We play five SEC opponents coming off a BYE this year: @Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida, Missouri, and @Auburn.
We are absolutely more talented than any team we face, but I feel like this aspect of the schedule is being overlooked. With over half of our SEC opponents having an extra week of rest and preparation, I expect several of our games to be closer than they've been the last couple of seasons.

We will get to the SECCG. Whether we win or not, I dont know. But I still think we go 11-1.
