That’s the interesting think about the predictions on the season. Computers like the team, the analysts don’t.

If the computer models are right and Mizzou is actually a good team, then the recruiting will pickup.

There's certainly a part of me that says aren't these computer programs really just an analyst hiding behind a keyboard. I mean who knows what weight is being given to what and who is to say that those are the proper weights to be given. There's still subjectivity that goes into it.

That’s true, but if those modelers want to create a following they have to develop a certain degree of consistency. Sites like KenPom are popular because they have developed formulas that are pretty accurate, or at least more accurate than any person can be across the 351 D1 teams.

Mizzou and CCM put their best foot forward with Love.

Seems like good news:

Evan Daniels
@EvanDaniels
Five-star guard Caleb Love will meet with Missouri at his school tomorrow, he tells
@247Sports. He also noted that he’s no longer going to Indiana this weekend.

Apparently Kentucky has dropped Christopher and apparently he wanted to go there because he seems pretty butthurt about it on Twitter.

Might actually help us if he feels that spurned.

I heard that Mizzou won't be getting the 7'0 center from Trinity Catholic so now they have offered sleeper 7'2 center Jordan Wilmore. He looks like a better defensive player.

I doubt he’s better defensively. He would have had an offer earlier if he was.

I meant to say he looks like a better offensive player.

Ryan Kalkbrenneris headed to Creighton. Weird choice, but if that is where he wants to go congrats to him.

Bunch of crystal balls coming in for NC on Caleb Love today. Cuonzo has really not succeeded recruiting in STL which is both surprising and disappointing

Ultimately wins over stars of course, but his lack of success in the STL metro is going to make it really hard on him.

Half the team is from STL. I wouldn’t call that struggling. Especially if you compare it to Mizzou’s history there. It’s not perfect, but it’s been better than any coach in the last 30 years.

This cycle has been incredibly disappointing. There is no other way to spin it. Missing on Love, Fletcher and the kid from Trinity is a huge whiff.

He was brought in to win these. At least some of them. Now of course, this doesn’t mean he can’t have a successful program it’s just going to make it that much more difficult to do without tapping into this pipeline

Feel free to be disappointed if Mizzou misses on Love. That’s different than saying Mizzou is struggling to recruit the area. Mizzou has more players from STL in the last 3 years than the previous 30 years. Maybe 30 years combined. Or at least close to it.

We have always struggled to get the top players from St. Louis like Beal(Florida) Lee(Florida) Tatum(Duke) and the kid from Wellston High who went to Kansas. All these kids went to bluebloods.

It’s not just the elite players that we have struggled to get. Mizzou has also missed on players like Tyler Cook and Xavier Sneed. Or you could go with someone like Patrick McCaw. Rosburg was the only STL player Mizzou landed since Quin was fired.
