Jealous of OSUs WR haul. Both of these guys are studs.

add Jaxon Smith-Njigba who was probably the most productive WR in Texas last year (1800 yards and 20 tds on almost 100 catches)

Potentially add Mookie Cooper

Jaxon Smith-Njigba

He looked good in the 1-1 drills from the Rivals 5* event recently. Hadn't watched him before, but if he continues to develop, he'll be a good one.

some of "The Opening" observations/comments told from perspective of UGA/Dawgnation:

Georgia recruiting highlights from the first day
It was a packed day. Here’s what stood out during Monday’s showcase session:

Georgia CB commitment Jalen Kimber put on an eye-popping display in the 40. He clocked a 4.44 laser and found himself in the finals of the “Fastest Man” competition.

Georgia OT commitment Tate Ratledge won at least five of his six reps, which included a series of three reps against 5-star Clemson commit Bryan Bresee. It can easily be scored that he had a perfect day against elite competition. His stock continues to rise. Ratledge seems every bit like a young man who will have earned his 5-star rating soon.

Bulldog QB commit Carson Beck finished just off the lead in the “Longest Throw” competition. He cut loose a wobbly spiral that wasn’t one of his best heaves of the week. It still covered 65 yards. Florida commitment Anthony Richardson (and Beck’s good friend) won the competition with a 68-yard effort in his own right.

Major UGA recruiting target Noah Sewell basically had a tractor beam in his chest for every running back he faced in the “Cat-and-Mouse” drill. Remember that old “Superman: The Movie” slogan? It was “You will believe a man can fly” on those old movie posters. With Sewell, it is “You will believe a 270-pound ILB can move like a RB” at the Opening. Sewell was the prospect who was fielding punts aptly with one hand while cradling a ball with his other hand at the Rivals “Five Star Challenge” event last month in Atlanta. He is really that special of an athlete.

It was a day to learn how some of the top recruits were feeling. 5-star South Florida RB Don Chaney Jr. reaffirmed his commitment to Miami. Chaney has been a hot name of late on the recruiting trail. It really does not sound like he will even be a darkhorse candidate to join the UGA class.

4-star TE Theo Johnson sounds like he is just ready to be done with his process. He has is down to four schools. Those are Georgia, Iowa, Michigan and Penn State. There is no order to that group. Johnson said he has not even reached the point where he has a private leader.

Chris Thompson Jr., the nation’s No. 7 safety, sounds like a prospect who wants to give the Bulldogs a closer look. He took a recent visit and told DawgNation that he needs to get back. DawgNation was told he timed a 4.66 for his 40. That’s a good time on the laser for such a physical hard-hitting safety.

Milton, it should go without saying, was one of the most impressive prospects the media got to watch on Monday. He carried good weight and was really working on posting a strong time in the 40. He went back and got stretched out before he took his last rep.
DawgNation was told he lowered his times significantly with that last effort with a showing right at 4.60 seconds. 247Sports reported his best time for the day at 4.59 seconds.

Chris Tyree wins fasted man. I am going to sound like a broken record here, but it looks like Demas next fastest. The finals weren't close. The heat before was down to an inch or so between him and Demas.

Not sure what is more amazing: how well Clemson recruits the DL or how poorly UGA does

You act like we’re the worst in the SEC at recruiting DL

Not the worst in the SEC... But the worst or close to it among likely playoff competition (or obstacles) seems fair...
Clemson, Alabama, and Ohio State at a minimum would seem to be better at DL recruiting than us?

Only a handful of teams are national title contenders, and those teams are lapping us on the DL. We are outrecruiting Mizzou, arky, etc, but that won’t get us where we need to be.

That’s fair. I think saying we’re as bad as Clemson is good is a little over dramatic. They’re insanely good so to imply we’re basically the opposite is a little unfair.

Top day 2 performers. Fleming and Scott both made the list as WRs. No mention of Demas...so he was at best the 3rd receiver on his own team yesterday
