"I love Mike Bianco. I want him to be successful and I'm going to do everything in my power to get him over this postseason hump. But we felt in the short term it was in the best interest of Ole Miss to pause a little bit on the contract and see what we need to do to push the program forward to get to Omaha more consistently. But make no mistake, we support Mike completely and we're going to give him all the resources he needs. We're going to be part of the solution. We want to roll our sleeves up and help him. That's my mentality."

-Keith Carter

Took a page out of Ross’ playbook and rides the fence instead of making a decision one way or the other. Thanks for giving other schools material to recruit against us with while not actually solving the problem. You can apply the same pressure without making it public to appease low information fans on Spirit board.

Lol no one believes this or he would have rolled his contract.

If we were going to put pressure on him, why do it after he makes it one game from Omaha? Wouldn’t last year be the year to make this type of move? I don’t understand our athletic department at all.

Lose regional as a National seed to a D2 school: roll contract

Lose game 3 of super on the road to a much better team: not good enough to roll contract.

I think it is a great move and showed some competency on the part of Carter. He used his "interim" tag as an excuse to not extend a contract. If the perm guy wants to, then he can come in and do it. Bianco still has 3 years on his contract and a very highly rated recruiting class. We're fine. I'm impressed by the move, to be honest.

This is the first step in moving Bianco into the AD role.

McDonnell will be the next coach.

That would be job suicide by Carter. I doubt that Bianco is going to be made AD.

I keep saying this to my Louisville buddies and they're all saying "uhh WhY wOUld He lEaVe Da ViLlE!?!?"

They legitimately think they have better facilities and fan support than us. They don't think we could outbid them either

He's got three years and this is an interim AD. That is all the guy should have said. Nothing about Omaha and its not a big story. Being pushed around by agents and always offering the max is dumb. Look where Auburn is this year.

I wouldn't go that far. I haven't heard any talkings about this guy retaining the full-time position and he's not exactly taking steps to ensure that. He's already made the vague statement about Bianco and has also said OM will not be participating in the alcohol sales at sporting events this year. I feel like he's just filling time with his announcements until a new AD is chosen.
